So my FH sometimes has a lack of understanding about why something is embarrassing or inappropriate and it nearly ALWAYS comes back on me LOL. We were at his uncle's wedding and at our table with my FMIL and FSIL. I told my FSIL I used her gift card she got me for a bride robe (it was a gift card from Victoria Secret, but FMIL did not know that). I thought it was innocent enough and wanted to let her know I appreciated her gift for my birthday. In reality I had used it also to get some lingerie for my boudoir shoot I did for my FH. My FH pipes up and says "Yeah and she got a lot of stuff for a boudoir shoot she's doing tomorrow!"
I tried to keep it together as my FMIL was like, "wait, what's that?" FH tried to answer but I cut him off and quickly said, oh it's like a photo shoot--like a bridal portrait! Thankfully FMIL was like "oh that's nice!" FSIL knew exactly what that was. Later on I told her she also got me some nice lingerie and that I couldn't believe he said that in front of his mother! She agreed horrified and we laughed it off. I let FH know on the way home to NEVER bring that up in front of FMIL again. (He still doesn't know "what he did wrong" ... sigh lol)
For the record, I suspect FMIL already thinks i'm on the slutty side as she took me shopping once and I overheard her telling the sales lady "she always shows so much skin! I just want to show her she can look pretty without showing that much skin!" FYI I'm Catholic and the only skin I've ever shown is a bit of cleavage (at the request of FH). She kept trying to put me in sweaters and shawls.
