My wallet wants me to elope. My heart wants me to have a wedding. If you’re already married which did you do? 🤦🏽‍♀️ Having all these “I️ Wish” moments. I️ wish I️ had Money to do this and that. I wish such and such could help with this. I️ wish My job wasn’t such a circus. All you soon to be brides...

🤦🏽‍♀️ Having all these “I️ Wish” moments. I️ wish I️ had Money to do this and that. I wish such and such could help with this. I️ wish My job wasn’t such a circus. All you soon to be brides with amazing jobs and families supporting you don’t know how lucky you are. And maybe you do.
Just in my feeling y’all. 😣

We considered eloping too because of the cost of weddings but we decided to go with a wedding because I was worried I’d regret not having one. In the end we decided to go with a longer engagement (2 years) and doing lots of research on vendors in our budget, and almost all our vendors have let us pay things off over time up until the wedding. $200 here and there is a lot less stressful then $5000 up front it’s made a huge difference and we’re making it happen. It is tough seeing friends and family who basically got their weddings paid for and here we are doing it on our own so I totally understand that feeling but I think it’ll be worth it in the end. Elopements can be just as beautiful as weddings too though!!

I completely understand it being tough seeing friends and family getting there wedding paid for and having to do it on your own. We decided to go with and all inclusive Venue. So "mostly" everything is included. We pay them each month and it just has to be completely paid a month before the wedding.

I think even if we did have the funds to do things quicker I would still opp to do the 2 year wait. I feel less stressed knowing I have more time to plan and figure things out.

Our wait started as 22 months. Now we are at 13 months and just now starting to save. We had vacations already lined up that are now completed.

I completely understand this. My budget is also 6k.

The photographer is the most expensive thing in my budget (even more expensive than my venue!), but they are soooo important to me. I'm an amateur photographer so I know quality when I see it and the photographs will last forever. It was also important to me to choose a package that offered a USB of all the photos with a copyright release to print as many as I want.
