I had my first alteration appointment and I had a hair trial the same day. I dislike how my back looks and not sure what to do. I was thinking of doing hair extensions that way it is a little longer and can hide part of my back. I showed my mom these pictures and she agreed that it looks bad and thinks I should wear a veil or a shawl but my wedding is in June and I don’t want to wear that all night long! My MOH thinks hair extensions look bad and I just don’t know what to do? I am working on loosing some weight and don’t know if I should get a tan to help. Any advice or ideas would be great! I am super self conscious and need a little validation and I just haven’t been getting any positive vibes lately and is making me super discouraged.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I will definitely take another look at my second alteration appointment.

This was my first fitting and is only pinned in place. He didn't say anything about it cause I didn't notice until the end when I had my MOH take some photos and I was looking back on them later. I hope after the first adjustment is made that I will feel better in it with some of the advice from above.

I am actually not wearing a bra with my dress, he just pinned the sides in at the moment and my spanks are what is popping out the top. Honestly, my dress is very snug on my torso below my chest area because I have fluctuated so much in my weight lately. I am really trying hard to focus this next month and drop the extra 10 pounds I gained to hopefully have it fit a little better because I think the flesh is being pushed up. The seamstress I picked is very good at what he does right up to making changes at the last minute (I saw him do my friends wedding dress) I am sure he didn't say much this appointment since it was the first and he just lightly marked the dress where the chest area needs to be taken in. I am hopeful by the second appointment that things will fit better. Thank you for the advice!

My first thought is don't be so hard on yourself!

I think a veil would be beautiful with this look. I have never worn hair extensions but have long hair and can easily imagine them being hotter and heavier than wearing a veil. Extensions would also be more of a commitment for the night, whereas you could easily remove a veil if needed.

I suspect you are likely to be the most critical of yourself and how you look, and none of your guests are going to be focused on your back. If you wore a veil, you could keep it on for the first part of your wedding, when most of the photos are being taken and when events are slower paced (first look, ceremony, photos, first dance, cake cutting) and then ditch it when the dancing starts, it gets hot, and the photographer goes home.

If you want your hair to look longer or fuller, you could always try a halo type extension. I find they look more natural than clip ins!

I think your dress looks amazing on you, and I LOVE your headpiece!!
