Feedback on my Homemade Dress?

Valerie, on July 25, 2019 at 1:32 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 3 43

So I'm making my dress. Please ignore the top (because i am not there yet) but what are your opinions on the midsection and the skirt. Don't be afraid to be honest, none of you can be as harsh as my aunts.

Is it currently bustled? I love the material and details that you chose, but I'm not crazy about the bubble look on the bottom.

Hmmm. Something seems off that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe the bottom is too straight? Needs more flare? I don't know. I think you're heading in the right direction. But I'm also into ball gowns, so what do I know? 😂

If I had your talent I would make my own gown also. Not sure what the bottom is supposed to look like but I love the intricate details.

I love the dress but this area throws me off and makes it look weird. I would say have transition up smoothly fading out or something like that. That one area catches the eye in an unflattering way.

My only worry would be the beading on the hips i would be afraid to move to much and pop the beading but those are really pretty. If you dont like a train on the dress what about a highlow style have you tried pinning it like that and seeing what you think? im probably just biased to that style but looks great so far! what are you planning for the top? halter, strapless, corset?

    I think you're doing a great job!
But I'm a little concerned about where this V falls.
Because if it falls where I think it does... that's V for VAGINA.

I currently have the beading on elastic string, so hopefully it will move with me. For the top its gonna be a halter, im not sure what im going to do with the beading.

I love the look of the back! The bottom idk if you have it just tucked in so it dosent drag but i think slightly more volume on the bottom would look grate train is a good length in my opinion! I agree woth others that between the lace and the beading there needs to be more of a transition because it looks like 2 different dresses put together at the moment but i love the direction your going! I also agree that the beeding around the hips i would be worried about when you sit idk if that would be comfy for me maybe more at you waist line to give your curves more shape and definition? Thats my opinion based on the photos and other comments i hope that helps keep going its coming together beautifully!

Ohh wow I wish I had some of your talent! I agree with PPs. I LOVE the back but the lace needs a smoother transition, taking the beads into an upwards pattern sounds like a good idea as well! Great job though!

Yeah, my eyes went to the same place. Is it pointing directly there? Are those beads in the center? You may want to rethink this section. I agree with the others posters, though, you are very talented.

I think my only concern with the dress is that it looks like the beading is coming out of the vagina, lol. Everything else looks great! I would just suggest finding a different meeting point for the beading in front.
