Fear of choosing the wrong dress

I totally felt like that! Really struggled with it until my dress came in to start alterations and then I knew I made the right choice. Trust yourself. There’s a reason you felt that way

Thanks ladies! I’m sure I will feel better once my alterations start! Also I was so suprised to find something at David’s bridal after I was looking at Bridals by Lori Atlanta !

I am going through the same thing right now! I said yes to the dress 2 weeks ago and I been second guessing it since I went and tried the dress on again and I’m not in love with it like I was before. So, now I am exploring other options at David’s bridal.

Fits your body perfectly and the veil finishes the look! totally don’t think you made a bad choice, I understand how you feel though, I am an overthinker and second guess myself all the time! I think once you see it one more time and put it on, then decide! Sometimes it is overwhelming because there are so many options out there so you don’t know which one is meant to be. BUT if there are other options on your mind maybe go try them on and see how you feel. I know for my dress that I picked, it’s all I think about and I’m so excited to wear it. I don’t want to try any other dress. So I’m not sure what is the right thing to feel when it comes to this.

Another thing is I’m getting a breast reduction because I have extremely large breast. That gown is gorgeous on you! The style & fabric are so elegant. Love it. There’s a subtle regal quality to it. I love that headpiece & veil too. Wow.

The fabric pattern is gorgeous, looking even more elegant because of the simple body hugging lines of the design. With your hair and coloring, and slim figure, it gives you a drama and elegance you would lose with more frou frou, or a ball gown. Yes there are other dresses that would look good on you also. But why keep looking when you have found one both perfect for you and within your budget? Give yourself a break, don't second guess. A lot of brides who find wedding planning exhausting and stressful are ones who over think every little detail. Because if you look a little longer, work a little harder, every thing could surely be more perfect, right. NO. But you may end up like many brides who spend the last 3 months before their wedding just wanting to get this dreadful business over with. It is a mind set, a way of thinking. If you agonize over 100 things, 90 of them no other person will ever think is any nicer than than the first 10 things you looked at and discarded because maybe, just maybe something better could be found, you will create your own unhappiness. If when you find something pleasing to the eye, you stop, say "that is done,". and go on, you will plan in half the time. Half or a quarter the effort. You will have time for FI and friends and the non-wedding focused activities that made your friendship to begin with. The happy engagement time. 😄

I agree! With fittings and alterations it will become your wedding dress more and more. If you loved it when you chose it, I am sure you will love it even more, come the big day! You're going to look absolutely lovely on your wedding day!

Judith your words have totally made me feel more confident with my pick! The other dresses I looked at were more frou frou and what I like about this dress is it does make me feel more elegant and also shows off my figure! And yes I can check this off my list. Thank you!

Yes girl I totally agree! Before I started trying on dresses I Loved mermaid dresses and I also was not interested in any kind of train. But after trying on several different types of dresses I realized I liked the silhouette I have now. The dress I chose was not even a dress I had on my wish list! When I went to Davids Bridal I thought I wouldn't find anything because I had my heart set on a certain dress at another store. I basically was playing dress up until I tried my dress on and I just knew! My mother asked on a scale of 1 to 10 I said 10 and when my consultant put on a veil I started crying and that's when I knew this was the one.

I had that same feeling. I went shopping with my mom, maid of honor, MIL to be, and grandma....when I tried on the dress that was to become my wedding dress I didn’t get the validation and reaction I had expected. Later they all told me they thought it was beautiful and SO me...they were waiting for my reaction before they said anything. Still, it made me feel as though it wasn’t the right one. Now that I am almost done with alterations I am SOOOOO glad I went with it. I couldn’t have picked a more gorgeous dress that looks like ME.

I totally felt that way! I had dress regret the second I slid my card to pay for it. I picked a beautiful dress that everyone loved but it definitely didn't give me any special moments. I ended up going back and trying on two more dresses, canceling my order, and getting something else I love. I know everyone says when you know you know and you shouldn't look at other dresses, but I knew the first one wasn't the one I wanted to get married in.

Just try not to put too much pressure on yourself to find "the one!" and find something that makes you feel beautiful.

Oh I had that! I just knew the dress was the one when I put it on. But for months I kept wondering if I should have gone with the dress I tried on just before it. I literally only tried it on to make sure the 2nd dress was it and ended up with dress 3 instead. I loved them both but the 2nd dress didn't give me as much of the this is it dress if that makes sense. Trust your gut. You'll drive yourself nuts.
