My mom & stepmom think I should completely X out favors. They think it’s an unnecessary expense but I kind of feel bad as that was our way of saying thank you for coming. We’re planning on giving each guest a late night snack.

I personally didn't have the budget for favors so I wasn't planning on doing them. My mom got herself an amazing deal on personalized M&Ms so we are having individual packs of those for everyone.

My cheap favor idea for myself was going to be bags of homemade popcorn that said "Thanks for popping by" on them. Would've been maybe $30 tops for all the popcorn kernels and the bags to put the corn in.

The food you give at the reception is a thank you, and you could thank everyone during the toasts if you wanted to speak. You also will send out thank you cards after the wedding. Favors are great if you want them, but also many people forget to take theirs and that often is a waste of money for you.

Do people still do thank you cards? It's funny, I can't remember the last wedding I went to where I received a thank you card in the mail later. Weird. Oh well, I've got them in my Vista Print checkout!

We have a photo booth and are thinking about a little frame or something to go with them. Just trying to find some for a good price.

We aren’t doing favors - I’ve blown the budget already and we are having awesome food and alcohol. I’ve been to so many weddings where the favors were just sadly left on the tables at the end of the night.

You could always have a cookie table and have personalized to-go bags for them to take home Smiley smile

Every wedding I've ever been to, there've always been loads of people who don't take favors. Edible ones are the most likely to get taken home, but for the most part, I think it's disheartening to see something you put time, though, and money into go to waste.

I find couples in lieu of favors are upgrading the reception (or top shelf liquor). We are not registering as we truly have everything we need and then some! We are going to compile a memory book-asking our guests to share a memory of them with us in the form of a photo or a story written down. Instead of giving the guests a favor we are considering taking that money we’d have used and donating to habitat for humanity.

The reception is absolutely your favor for your guests or else you'd leave right after the ceremony! i feel like money for favors could be put towards something for you two on the day or for your reception. if you're having a bar of any kind consider that the gift!
