Favors? are they necessary?

I spoke with my wedding planner and she is against spending the money on favors. She said you feed them, get them drunk, pay around $200-$300 a person to have an amazing time when you factor in the DJ, etc. what are your thoughts?

    I like to have favors when I throw parties, so I'm for them. They definitely aren't necessary though. I'm giving each person a 750mL bottle of homemade wine as a favor.

    No, based on everything I've read, they are optional.

    I’d say your planner is smart AF ! I did get some for ours but in retrospect I wish I hadn’t.
