Father/daughter dance alternative

Sara, on June 14, 2020 at 10:45 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
I'm getting married on June 27th. I'm trying to find an alternative to the father daughter dance and mother son dance as my dad had passed away almost a year ago and my fiance's mom has passed. We have 2 boys that we thought of doing a parent kid dance instead, but I'm not sure of that idea. Anyone have any suggestions?

I’ve seen people do family dances where they include their kids instead of doing parent dances

I'm sorry for you losses. It's totally fine to skip those dances, but I'm all for the idea of dancing with your own children: I've seen it a few times.

I’m sorry for you loss. My father passed as well. My brother will be stepping in to do a brother/sister dance. But I love the incorporating the kids! They can feel special during that time too and I’m sure they would love that. If you have anyone that you both are close with, you can have that person take the lead as well. Aunt, uncle, brother, sister... but I still love the kids idea! Good luck to you!! And happy wedding day!!

So sorry for your loss. i think including your children is an awesome way to honor them in your wedding. i also think it is totally appropriate for siblings of the bride and groom to step in if applicable. you could also completely skip them if you guys dont want to do them. totally up to you. i dont think you can go wrong with any option because it yall's wedding. good luck Smiley smile

I'm so sorry for your losses.

Those dances aren't required. If you'd like to do a family dance, then pick a song from a movie or an artist you all love, and get your groove on!

I'm so sorry for both of your losses. I think doing a kids dance would be a lovely alternative.
