Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance - Who chooses the song?

I think a group effort is the best way. I've asked my dad to help pick a song for us. My FH isn't sure if his mom will even participate (they're Russian and a bit reserved.) So I think we'll consult them as well.

My dad picked. FH's mom said he could pick.

My dad has had our song picked out since it came out.... and I think it was that way with his mom too. See if they have any that mean something special to them, if not, I'd say it's a free for all.

I asked my dad if he'd be willing to pick since I thought it'd have more meaning coming from him. He agreed. I'd definitely talk to the parents and see what their thoughts are too.

My dad is picking out song and FH picked the dog for him and his mom.

I plan on picking my song for me and my dad, because I know which song my dad will pick and it is so overused (at least where I live. Almost everyone I know hat had a wedding where i live use the same song for the father daughter dance) that when i hewr it at a wedding i groan in annoyance ("I loved her first").

I have a song picked out that I haven't personally heard ten thousand times at just as many weddings ("You can let go now, Daddy.") That fits the theme of a song from my heart that tells both of my parents how much they mean to me (I will have a mother/daughter dance with my mom, too, and that song is "The Wind Beneath my Wings")

I have been listening to F/D songs as well- my DJ asked me how I was doing so it had my mind going this past weekend. I have a list of about 3-4 songs I would like if my dad can't decide. However I did feel it was more special letting him pick it out. I have a feeling he is going to pick John Mayer daughters, because I know he likes that one. Idc if all my guests think it's over played. If my dad wants that song, that's what he will get! As far as FH / FMIL dance they are probably picking out one together.
