My dad and I are dancing to The Beatles In My Life.. it reminds me of when we I was little and we used to listen to it. Maybe think of something you guys used to listen to or a song he likes.

We picked a country song lol. My dad loves country and every time I hear this song it makes me cry! We are dancing to "I loved her first" by Heartland.

Were doing "My little girl" by Tim McGraw. I'm not normally a big country fan either, but the lyrics really hit the nail on the head for us. It was between that and "I turn to you" by Christina Aguilera.

I think it matches what you're going for, not sappy and not country. I know you don't like sappy country songs but here's one

Update, dad doesn't really care for that song. He looked up songs last night and sent one to me. He is a big Cheap Trick fan and growing up my parents played it a lot around the house so I include them in one of my "classic rock" bands I really like. It's the lead singer singing with his daughter live. After he sent it to me I told him "YEP, that's it. You know I have always like Cheap Trick".

Funny thing too is my parents first dance was to Cheap Trick - The Flame.

It's a long song (6min) so going to have it edited a bit to make it shorter. Delete the guitar solo & towards the end when they start to repeat just fade out. Thinking we should be able to get it under 4 minutes. So what do ya think?
