Father daughter dance since my mom passed

Hello everyone! I’m not sure how many can relate but I am really struggling with a song selection. My mom raised me on her own and it was always to plan to have her give me away and we would do a mother daughter dance. Unfortunately, she passed away 3 years ago. My dad was in and out of my life so we are semi-close but it is definitely difficult to find a song that speaks to our semi-relationship.
Everyone knows he wasn’t very involved in my life but he has put an effort the last 3-5 years. Do I go for a traditional father daughter dance, tribute to my mom, or new suggestions??? I know this post is a lot but I don’t know what to decide.

    You could just not have that dance. My dad cheated and left my mom when I was in high school, and he is now on his third marriage. I like him okay but he's definitely narcissistic and I don't think I am going to be dancing with him.

    Also, I forgot to say, I am so sorry about your mother. I'm sure she will be smiling upon you on your special day. There are other ways to honor loved ones who are no longer here in your wedding.

    I'm really sorry to hear about your mother, Destinee Smiley heart I'm sure she will be with you in spirit on your day.

    This is totally your choice and what you're most comfortable with. As Andrea mentioned, you can even choose not to have a father-daughter dance. It's not a must-do and plenty of brides skip this.

    If you do decide to have the dance, you could pick a more generic song as opposed to a song that focuses heavily on the father-daughter relationship. Something like 'What a Wonderful World' by Louis Armstong could be a good option.
