Faqs page

I am in the process of working on our wedding website and I'm curious what everyone has on their FAQ page?? I have like 3 so far and I know I'm missing a ton! We are trying to keep it light hearted and fun and put some funny ones in there so if you have any ideas for those that would be great!! (our wedding is super casual, FH and I are always full of sarcasm and jokes so our guests are expecting this LOL)

ALSO: I don't even want to ask this question but I really am at a loss on how to word this in a "funny" manner or just how to word it in general. We are having a cash bar (ooh i know how absurdly rude of us...eye roll...) and I just need ideas on how to word that. Like " Q: Will there be drinks served? A: Yes, we will have punch and water served as well as a toast at dinner. There will also be a cash bar if you're needing something stronger! " Idk that just sounds dumb to me LOL. What do you (pro cash bar) have??

Disclaimer because I know this is such a huge issue for so many of you: In my area cash bars are the norm, I have NEVER been to a wedding that had an open bar (and I've been to like 15 weddings in my life) I will NOT be postponing my wedding because were doing a cash bar.

So I don't have a FAQ section, but I have a things to know, which I think is similar. I put the the ceremony and reception take place on grass, so they know their shoes might sink if they wear heels. I also put that valet is included because the parking is tiny. I also wrote that there is no hotel block set up. I'm also trying to think of other things they might need to know.

As far as the cash bar, I would just write "alcoholic beverages are available for purchase"

    Of course!

Yeah, I didn't wanna tell people how to dress, cause I don't really care, but I know there are a few women in our family that love their stilettos, so I wanted to give them a heads up.

I would say "Will there be a bar? Yes there will be! Beer will be available for $X, wine for X, and mixed drinks for X. Please bring your ID, the bar takes cash & card."

These are the questions on our site:

DO YOU HAVE A HOTEL ROOM BLOCK?WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE CEREMONY & RECEPTION TAKING PLACE?WHAT TIME SHOULD WE BE THERE?WHEN ARE RSVPS DUE?ARE THERE OTHER WEDDING EVENTS I SHOULD ATTEND?IS THERE A DRESS CODE?WILL PARKING BE AVAILABLE?CAN I BRING MY KIDS?CAN I BRING A DATE?WILL FOOD AND DRINKS BE SERVED?WHERE ARE YOU REGISTERED?ALTITUDE SICKNESS?WHAT IF I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?CAN WE TAKE PICTURES?IS THERE SERVICE AT THE VENUE?HOW DO I CONTACT YOU WITH FURTHER QUESTIONS?

Omg I love your post too funny! It drives me nuts when people don't answer your question but instead tell you what you should do.

    Now, on to your question...

We are offering free drinks at our reception but not a ton. We will have a few bottles of different liquors and wines and probably several cases of beer, but this is just something we wanted to do plus it was cheaper for us to buy the booze ourselves than to hire a bartender service.

I think the way you had it worded is great and cute. Or just say something like There will be an open cash bar, so being cash if you want to drink.

I added pics of the questions I used. Keep in mind though 99% of our guests are local, so no hotel or accommodation questions. Truthfully I only filed it out because our website looked so blank.

In our FAQ section we have the following:

But what shall I wear? Be prepared for a summer wedding with lots of dancing! Semi-formal is perfect! No need to whip out a gown or a suit if you don't want to.

What if I have food allergies? We have done our best to account for food allergies and diets. We will have Gluten-Free and Vegan dinner and desserts available. If you have any specific dietary needs, please contact us

Can I bring someone not listed on my RSVP card? We ask that only those listed on your RSVP card be in attendance. Due to venue limitations, we are unable to accommodate children or those not included on our guest list.

Can I bring my children if they are well behaved? While we know that all of the children in our family are so well behaved, we are unable to accommodate children on our wedding day. We hope you are still able to attend and enjoy a date night. Maybe have a glass of wine... or two!

I can't wait to take a million pictures of the ceremony! We ask that you leave your phone in your pocket (on silent) as we have both a wonderful photographer and videographer who have been hired to capture our special day. Post-ceremony feel free to take all the pictures you want and please use #Flight727 on social media so we can see all of your wonderful photos!

I got this sweet drone for Christmas and I would love to use it. Can I? No sir you may not. Our venue is next to an airport and within the airspace for Portland International Airport. It is illegal to use any drone device within a designated airspace. Please note that it is also illegal to release balloons, any other flying object or use laser like lights at the venue.

    Hope this helps!

Of course! I definitely think it is okay to have fun but still get the message across. The most important thing to think about are the common questions and then things you need them to know. For example the drones and lasers with us. The last thing we need is the FAA and police called on our day haha
