Famous person at wedding

I was wondering if anyone has actually had a famous (or at least semi famous) person attend their wedding. Did it take away a lot of attention from the couple?

I've also been to a wedding with a famous tattoo artist in attendance. He's been a judge on shows and such but it wasn't an issue.

FH really wanted John Stamos to do our ceremony. I tried really hard to make it happen but it isn't going to. We are going to have life-size cutouts instead.

I’ve photographed weddings with famous athletes in the wedding party. I’m not a sports person, so I didn’t even realize it until I got home and asked my husband where I remembered them from 😂😂😂 he was so mad I didn’t get anything signed, and so obviously they weren’t a big deal, or I would have figured it out at the Wedding.

FH and I jokingly tossed around sending an invite to the queen after reading an article where a couple sent her an invite and she actually showed up.

We also thought about asking either Armin Van Buuren or Tiesto to be our DJ since they are both favorites of ours. I'm pretty sure neither of them would accept and they would tell us to just request a shootout. Lol

We will be having a couple of famous musicians and tattoo artists as guests at our wedding. We aren’t publicly posting about it or anything. I think as long as you treat them like you normally do, other people will follow your example. People know it’s supposed to be about you know getting an autograph or whatever lol.

I thought for a second about inviting Gary Sinise (Lt. Dan from Forrest Gump), as I worked for his foundation for a little bit when I lived in LA and he knows my family/fiancé. Fiance was in the military (his foundation benefits those in the service/wounded vets) and so I thought very briefly about it. Myself and my dad are also close to the director of the foundation so we considered that too. I know he wouldn't have been able to come, he is a very busy guy and spends almost all of his free time traveling around doing amazing things for our nations' defenders and their families. It would almost just have been a nice gesture to send an invite. I am pretty positive he would have been the star of the day though if in some magical universe he actually came, as many of our guests are friends of my dad's who are on a credit union board that centers on, again, military families. He is super humble and low key but people get kind of frenzied when they meet him. Amazing guy, for what it's worth. I also interned for Ryan Seacrest a while back, I mean I would never send him an invite because there's no way in hell he'd ever come, but the thought is fun Smiley smile

That's good! I think the person I'm thinking about would actually enjoy staying low-key (and I obviously wouldn't announce it). So it works out for everyone!

Gry Sinise is amazing. Doing great work! I get more star-struck on guys like him who are making a real difference. I'm considering an invite to Mike Rowe for the same reason. FH and I's "celebrity" shot in the dark invites are all politicians. The other day one was in the news for something. I sent the article to FH, and his immediate response was "we need to send him an invite!" Lol. We also listen to a couple political podcasts that have famous people within the movement, but who no one else would recognize. We'll see what we actually end up doing. Per invite cost is expensive!

FH's cousin is married to a major league baseball player who is very well known in our area. I don't think it will take away from us at all and I am hoping that he can attend because he is a fantastic person!

I was at a wedding where one of the members of Bon Jovi was in attendance, his mother was seated at the table I was at but he was not, I did not notice any attention being taken away from the couple at all.

OMG Total Saints fan here....I would have had a hard time holding back & being respectful of the couple getting married. All night I would have been staring and creeping him out! Smiley smile Smiley sexy

Funny, I wanted to MARRY John Stamos but clearly that is not panning out.

I Invited friends of ours who are in a rock band, I've know them for over 10 years, unfortunately they are on tour so they aren't coming, but if they did I'd think very few people would recognize them.
