Fake Buttons!!!

DarthRabbit, on June 13, 2017 at 3:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Okay so I found a dress I looooove but there is one thing I don't like about it... it had the fake buttons all the way down the back of the dress, to the very end of the train. I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to get these buttons removed without ruining the dress. I don't mind them over the zipper, I just don't want them to go any farther than that.

I think it could be done. I would double check with a seamstress to see if they would be able to do that for you.

I think you would have to talk to a seamstress about it. I would probably just find a dress that didnt have the buttons though.

I don't have any advice for you, only here to commiserate with you and your dislike of fake buttons.

When I was dress shopping, my literal ONLY requirement was that the buttons were real and functional. That's it.

Hope you're able to get something figured out!

I asked about this and my salon said they could order without the full length of buttons. They definitely treated it like no big deal. I also really hate them!

I can't really see the buttons, but I agree I had dislike for major fake buttons when trying on dresses.

Funny side note - I had real buttons all down my back, and getting them buttoned - no problem.

Getting them unbuttoned meant my fat fingered, had been drinking husband couldn't undo them at all! Luckily one of his female friends came up to our hotel room meet our dog, and had to help me get the dress off haha.

Nothing says, "we're not really friends, but you used to try to date my husband" quite like asking someone to undress you!

No advice but I love when the buttons go all the way down! Though I see your point as they aren't visible to add to the beauty of the dress with the lace so why even be there...though I think they're gorgeous with a more simple dress.

You could take the buttons off and give them to me, haha. Adding buttons is one of the alterations to my dress! Ask a seamstress if removing them is possible. Good luck!
