Face moisturizers and lotions you swear by?

Natalie, on January 28, 2017 at 10:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 37

I have oily/dry skin, and I have tried so many different moisturizers, and just haven't found one I absolutely love...minis Mary Kay moisturizer, but it's more expensive than I'm willing to pay right now. My face is super dry right now because of winter. I also like to moisturize my entire body after showers to prevent from dry, itchy skin. What are your favorite creams/lotions you like to use for overall body? Thanks for any tips you have!

I've been loving Origins Nightamins. It does have a citrus smell if you're sensitive to that though but my face feels really soft and smooth.

Have your tried oil washing? I believe for oily skin its best to use olive oil, and for dry skin, a combination of grapeseed or sunflower oil and castor oil, a 70/30-ish blend.

You take a nickel sized amount in your palm, rub it between your hands, and apply it to your face, rubbing it in with small circular motions, for about 5-7 minutes. Then, take a HOT, damp washcloth (wrung out), and apply it to your face for 30-60 seconds. Repeat 2-3 times, wiping away the surface oil each time. After that, your skin should feel clean, but moisturized.

The oils help break down the dirt and blackheads because they're oil-based, so it dissolves and lifts them. The oils I mentioned are also noncomedogenic, so they don't clog pores like some popular oils like coconut oil will.

Have you tried any of the intensive moisturizers that Mary Kay offers vs just the regular time wise moisturizer? I use the Timewise moisture renewing gel mask several times a week because sometimes my face goes reptilian with this face chapping wind! You can put it on for 20 minutes or overnight and your face just drinks it up and is sooo soft afterwards! If you talk to a rep in your area I bet you can get a sample for free. ETA to add: I have had my bottle for more than a year so the price is welllllll worth it! ($22)

For my face I love Aveeno's daily moisturizer. For my body it's Jergen's ultra healing lotion until the summertime. Then I switch to regular shea butter. It makes my skin feel amazing!

This is the only stuff that works on my skin. It's amazing. Also twice a week I do a face mask I make myself using oatmeal and honey and a tiny bit of water. It works great for my dry face.

Wow thank you all for all your helpful advice!! MNA, I never ever tried what you said, that's super interesting...I may have to try a number of different options you all suggested. May start with the CeraVe moisturizer first since it's a little cheaper, /'d work my way up from there. I can't thank you all enough for all of your suggestions.

I swear by Clinique products. Sounds like you have combination skin. They have moisturizer, face wash, and toner for that skin type. I had severe acne and my mom got it for me almost 10 years ago and I haven't had more than a few zits and no moisture issues.

I have oily skin also. I use Traders Joe's oil free antioxidant facial moisturizer. It's a very good product I've been using for almost a year.

I have adult acne and my dermatologist recommended I use Cetaphil oil control moisturizer. I love it because it also has SPF. Doesn't make me break out or feel oily at all!

I swear by gold bond healing lotion for my body and my face I always use neutrogenia oil free. In the last couple years into my thirties having more issues with dry skin on my t zone. I had never used night cream so bought the neutrogena night cream and it has helped immensely.

I suggest you look into Korean Beauty. I am quite the "beauty junkie" and have recently switched over to Korean Beauty products. It has literally given me the best skin I have EVER had. (I'm a MUA/hairstylist FYI)

There is an Asian beauty page on Reddit that is SO informative.

All of the products I am now using were $15 and under vs. $30+ before!!

You can purchase everything on Amazon too!
