Extra wedding money please!

I want to make some extra money for my wedding. I have been selling items on eBay which that money has been going towards the caterer. In what ways have you been making extra money? I need ideas

Second job or work extra hours. I work 50-60 hours a week (have been working these hours for the last 5 years) and I am in graduate school full time taking 5-6 classes a semester (on the deans list). If you are determined anything is possible.

Well, I guess we will never find out how OP intends to make money without working for it.

You can donate plasma, here in ohio it is 50 dollars for the first four times and then after it is 20 and then 40 equalling to 240 a month, definitely not a ton of money but we have done it around Christmas and in hard times in the past. Also look on the free ads on Craigslist and look for people getting rid of scrap metal or junk appliances and take them to the scrap yard, also not a ton of money but it adds up over time. Also instead of eBay try Facebook rummage sites, it's alot easier to deal with. And you could also try babysitting for date nights.

Can you find a job that is pretty low-key that you would be able to do homework at? I've seen people studying while they do a job in the library, security jobs or later evening hours at nursing home facility, etc.

I've been picking up a TON of extra hours at work. Of course, I'm also burning out at the moment, but I'll manage.

Couponing can save you money at least- it isn't super time-consuming if you check out the coupon sites that do the research for you & tell you which deals you can get (couponaholic.net, etc)

I'm gonna look into doing plasma. FH has been working 70 hrs a week for the last month almost. I have barely seen him. But the money is adding up quick.

I had to sign a contract stating I would not get secondary employment while working for my company and I'm not allowed by the union to work more than 80 hours in a pay period, but I have been doing little things like Mechanical Turk/Swagbucks. I am not making much but its something. I also use Qapital which has helped with savings. Going to start selling some stuff on ebay, babysitting and hope that I get a decent tax return. I know a lot of people turn to the MLM companies but I don't want to touch that.

@Kristin F. - I've heard of Mechanical Turk but don't know anyone personally who has done it. What are your thoughts on it? Are you paid through PayPal or another method?

I don't know what your work schedule looks like but if you have weekdays off I would suggest looking into substituting. I'm a substitute teacher and it's great because I work when I want to work. I pick the days I want to work and take off whenever I want and get paid pretty well. I was a teacher last year in a school district that paid 250 per day. If you can handle kids for a few hours, it's a great way to make money

Due to my visa being tied to my job, I couldn't work another job while saving for the wedding. We saved by eating out less, cutting unnecessary purchases and coffee runs.

Realistically, keeping the wedding small was the biggest way we saved. We looked at the savings we had when we got engaged and decided what we would be comfortable with spending. Having 1.5 years to save more gave us space to go over budget in small ways and not feel like we had to eat ramen daily.

@jay-no you can get Amazon gift cards or have it directly deposited into your bank account. It can be tedious work, stuff like reading receipts, or I found one person who just wanted someone to type in the color of a sweater in each picture and paid me like .2 to do it. It'll add up, but slowly. I've made like $5. But thats a vase for a centerpiece!
