Expensive Taste In Jewelry

I don't know why I did this to myself.

I'll begin by saying that we're having a low budget backyard wedding, and by low budget, I mean super low.

My FW and I hit the outlet mall a few weeks ago and for some GENIUS reason, I dragged her into Kay to browse around and get an idea of what I might want to wear on our wedding day. I didn't expect to fall in love with anything. I'm not usually impressed with tons of bling and for that reason, I thought Kay would be safe - but I was very wrong. 😂

I fell in love with this dainty rose gold necklace with a pearl (for good luck!) and ever since I've been trying to tell myself I don't need it and desperately looking around for literally anything that might compare to it. On one hand, I feel silly splurging on a necklace for myself when our wedding is so low budget, and we are hoping to buy a house shortly after the wedding. But on the other hand, you only get married once and I feel like I would cherish this necklace forever. Any advice or links to cheap rose gold pearl necklaces are welcome. 😂

That is seriously a beautiful necklace. I'm sure you can find something cheaper that's similarly designed.

I would look on Etsy. They have a lot of jewelry that is so pretty and reasonably priced.

To be honest, every time I’ve splurged on something like that, I’ve come to regret it. I second the recommendation to search on Etsy!

I would look on Etsy. I've seen a ton of stuff like this. I got earrings for $60 on Etsy and a lot of people asked me if they were heirloom earrings.

Same TBH, etsy is always good to check but i've always regretted these splurges and ended up rarely wearing the item

Wait until the holidays roll around and then check online! Big jewelry retailers like Kay and Zales will run great deals and you can always google for promo code discounts. Also use Rakuten (formerly Ebates). You’ll get a % in cash back for your purchase when you go through them.

Or if you celebrate Christmas, you could put it on your Santa list 😁

TBH, I would just splurge on it (and possibly just pay for it out of my own pocket and not necessarily out of the “wedding budget” hehe) but your wedding is in July yes? I bought my fiancée’s engagement band from Kay’s in November and they had it on sale because it was the week of Thanksgiv...I mean Black Friday ;D You could wait and see if maybe they’ll have that on sale too? (The associate I was talking to when browsing actually told me to hold off buying his ring because of the upcoming sale a week later!)

The day after I posted this, I got an unexpected check in the mail from a job that I left in February. The necklace is mine now! I'm so stoked, I never splurge on nice jewelry for myself.

Omigosh!! What unexpected good fortune! Congrats on the gorgeous necklace (not gunna lie, I legit went online to see if I could nab myself a similar one cuz my dress has pearls and my tiara has gold plating but I felt my own pearl-only necklace just doesn’t fit with the look like yours does haha)

I was going to tell you to splurge, but it sounds like the universe already helped you out! It was meant to be!!
