Everything matching?

Morgan, on May 8, 2020 at 7:36 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 21
This may be a weird question but I am stumped and worried things won’t look right for my wedding. Should my wedding welcome sign, ceremony programs, seating chart and place cards all match or be similar? Or do you do whatever? There so many options to choose from and I’m worried it’ll look all scattered if I do different templates for signs and then another template for seating chart/place cards, etc. Thoughts?

For it to look more coordination it can look the same as far design however it's not important if it doesn't. If i was a guest ill care about everything being organized

I personally would prefer for everything to coordinate, but not necessarily match. As a guest, however, I probably wouldn't notice if your programs coordinated with your welcome sign.

We didn't do programs, but our seating chart, menus, and invitations all shared the same botanical theme. They weren't necessarily the same colors, but they all had greenery and the same type of feel. I made our wedding signs, so I made sure that I used the same few fonts for all of them. You don't necessarily have to do the same, but I think it would be more obvious if you had some super modern geometric design for your signs and then an extremely rustic wedding.

My invitations and welcome sign matched because I was able to get them done by the same Etsy artist. But I had different save the dates and seating signs. They were all some kind of red gold and/or cream.

I made sure my invitations matched my programs and signs. I designed my invitations and programs with a designer friend. When it came to getting my acrylic signs made, I provided the company the artwork from my invitations/programs so that they could incorporate it into the design.
I personally just preferred to have everything cohesive when it came to design elements. However, most guests probably won’t notice if they don’t match— though, I did have quite a few guests take notice on how everything just went together with our design.

I wouldn't say that it necessarily has to match, but it should be coordinated.

As others have stated, they don't have to match, but coordinating is important (same colors and theme).

Okay awesome!! I did buy some signs off fb marketplace in January after Christmas weddings were over. I’ll probably have to do something simple to match them😊

Oh nice! Yeah, I don’t think they have to COMPLETELY MATCH— I just made sure that they had some element (font, design, color) that tied them together. Good luck! Christmas-time weddings are so fun!!! So jealous! 💕

Mine are coordinating in color and construction (for instance all the signs are glass) but they are not “matching”. Like PP said, I wouldn’t notice as a guest but I wanted a clean look for my wedding so that’s why I’m coordinating them!

They don't have to match identically. As long as things look like coordinate, you should be fine.

I never thought of having everything match... my invitations and RSVP cards match, and that's about it lol.

I'm going to do a seating chart as well (well, maybe. after starting on it it's already a nightmare and I might just ditch the idea).

My signage is all homemade and they match, but my venue has large chalk boards for us to use, so I plan on using those as well... but those will be for outside and my signs were made for inside (cards and gifts, open bar, and one with our last name on it).

As far as my planned seating chart goes, I think I'm going to have it made. Pinterest has some awesome and cute ideas with old windows and mirrors, but I'm also considering having it just printed and shipped. Still on the fence. My place cards are going to be plain white because I didn't want to go crazy with making it match if it was just going to be thrown away after.

My table numbers (homemade) match the invitations/RSVP's etc and will complement my centerpieces, colors and whatnot.

I guess I have a lot to think about still lol. Good luck!!
