Event Planner?

Nicole, on September 5, 2019 at 9:40 AM Posted in Planning 0 8
Hello there!

I am excited to plan and get involved with the creative elements of the wedding, but I feel like I am getting little to no help from anybody else. I have considered hiring an event planner to help me with my vision, but I was wondering what I would expect to pay for such a service? My venue provides a day-of-coordinator and she has been very responsive to my planning questions and needs, but I feel like it would be nice to have someone take the vision I have and my budget and just create something unique and beautiful for me. It’s nice of course, but I’m sure it can get costly. Does anybody know what to expect to pay for the event planning service for a wedding?

I had a full service wedding planner and paid $12k. I live in a very high cost of living area though. My friends who live in the south or Midwest paid closer to 5 or 6 thousand for a full service planner. I would also look into wedding planners that provide a la carte services like design hep. Mine didn’t but I’m sure some do!

What area are you in? I found an AMAZING full service wedding planner in LA for 2k. He’s absolutely incredible and has made the process soooo much easier.

I'm in Denver, my month of coordinator was $1k and I think her full services spanned from 3k-10k depending on size of the wedding and what all she did. I did all the planning myself and she just did final month coordination.

It really depends on the area in which you live. I am a Wedding Planner and in the Denver area for full planning I charge $5-9k depending on certain factors. For Wedding Management or more commonly known Month Of Coordination I charge $1500 but this is all based off market research and analysis for my area. If you really want one definitely expect to pay for it.

I found mine using wedding wire and then read yelp reviews. I got really lucky with the price and he’s totally amazing!

I’m planning a destination wedding in North Carolina. I hired my wedding planner for “wedding management” which is basically month of coordination with unlimited emails/access throughout the process. It was 1800 including all her team and flipping the event space. It is going to be well worth it for her to completely take over once we hit the month mark.

Wedding planners can get super pricey which throws your budget out of wack. I decided to be my own wedding planner because nobody knows what you want more than you do. You can picture your vision but it doesn't always mean someone else can.
