Essential! As an out of town guest I love getting a welcome bag! It's always really nice to have a bottle of water and a snack to tide you over - especially if your hotel doesn't have a little bodega!

I think nice but again not essential! They are probably more important if you have lots of out of town guests.

I do personally feel these are extra but my mother and FMIL disagree so we compromised. So we're doing welcome hotel bags with water, snacks, and cookies. A woman that works with my FMIL makes these amazing cut out sugar cookies so she's makes wedding cake and heart shapes that will have icing and sprinkles in our colors. I bought the gift bags and tissue paper from Oriental Trading and the moms are buying the contents.

Extra. I would’ve loved to do this but it’s logistically impossible. Ours is a destination wedding so everyone is coming from elsewhere. Trying to put bags together and travel with them, then trying to get them to 10-15 different hotels? No. Just no.

That's a good point! I didn't even think about how you can munch on the snacks in that bag to hold you over! Lol, always got to throw the Advil in there for the next day!

I totally agree! If I end up having a destination wedding, I'll definitely provide them for my guests!

Extra. It's a nice thought if you can afford it but it's not essential.

Our site has a caurosel on location so only thing we plan on doing is giving each guest a token probably with our engagement picture or in a small bag. Would welcome suggestions anyone else may have ?

I think for those coming out of town a welcome bag is essential and very much needed. However I don’t thunk we will be doing that for ALL of our guests (100+ people is ALOT)

Wish people would stop wasting money on these! Unless you are going to give me some amazing local snack I dont want/need candy or a water bottle or ibuprofen.

Extra. My guests are out of town but not so far out of town that they would stay several days.
