Envelope Stuffing...

Elisa, on April 23, 2012 at 7:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

I have a really stupid question... Does it matter which way the invitation goes into the envelope? Do you put the front of the invite facing the back of the envelope so when they open it they see the invite?

Hmm, well I don't know if it's right or not- but I'm putting the invite facing the back. Our envelopes are thin and I don't want it showing through the front.

I would do it facing the flap/opening. that way when they open it and pull it out its right there, the dont have to flip it over...also what shellie said.

Um I think it would depend on the invite for me. If I have pretty embellishments, I'd probably put the front facing the front of the envelope so that when the invite is opened non of the embellishments would be easily disturbed. However, that said, it is likely that the envelope will be opened with a letter opener, therefore, it may not matter which direction the invite is place.

Sorry if this isn't much help :s

The "traditional way" to stuff your envelopes.

If your invitations are single fold and the wording is on the outside only, insertions are placed on top. If your invitations are multi-fold and/or the wording is inside the fold then insertions are placed inside the first fold.

The insertions go in the following order (from bottom to top):

    tissue paper

    reception card

    map

    response envelope

response card (tucked under the flap of the response envelope)

This is all placed inside the envelope, printed side facing the flap.

Map? I need a map? I am printing a little note with hotel and camping information, maybe I will put a bit of directions on there too.
