Engament ring broke. Kist center diamond! Help

Sandy, on May 25, 2022 at 10:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
So I'm in a total panic a prong on my center diamond broke and I can't find the center diamond. My fiance was suppose to get insurance and never got around to it. He put insurance on it today. It's suppose to cover the most diamond. I'm concerned with the fact it was damaged before having the insurance. Would it still be covered? Has anyone dealt with this situation?

Put panty hose over a vacuum hose and vacuum over where you may have lost the diamond. The suction will pull the stone against the hose.

    Hope everything works out!

As long as you have the appraisal before the stone got lost - you should be able to add to your insurance?

I know mine required an appraisers report and pictures separate from the receipt to add onto my homeowner's office - do you have all documentation needed to submit the claim?

and yes- I have used the pantyhose/ vacuum methods as well before and had success!

Previous insurance lady here - Adding a damaged ring to an insurance policy to get it covered is insurance fraud Smiley sad even if the appraisal happened before the ring was damaged, if you did not cover it before it was damaged, it's fraud. I'm so so sorry this happened to you!

Oh no! Do you have any idea where you were when the diamond fell out? Here s hoping you can find it, my mom lost the center stone of her engagement ring and she found the diamond 2 yrs later under a radiator when they were renovating the house. Things like this have a habit of reappearing when you least expect it. If you think you lost it in the house turn off the lights and grab a flashlight and just shine it everywhere hopefully you ll catch a glimmer of the sparkle. Also empty out every cabinet and drawer. I m not an insurance expert by any means but my guess would be if the ring was insured after the loss of the diamond then it will not be covered but here's hoping I m wrong. Wishing you all the bestSmiley heart
