Engagement rings

Hi ladies. How many of you have gotten your FH a mens engagement ring? I had not heard much about this before getting engaged but I think maybe the men should have some bling to show off pre wedding. What do you guys think?

I honestly don’t think is necessary. Mostly because guys don’t wear two rings like we do. So I find it an unnecessary expense since most likely he won’t be able to wear after the wedding band. I personally prefer to get him a good ring but just one.

I don’t think it’s necessary I rather save for the big day for my fiance.

We got for both of us the silicone rings to wear as engagement rings and for the wedding bands we got the bling. We both have jobs where we work with our hands and don't want to mess up nice jewelry so after we are married the nice jewelry probably will only be worn occasionally and the silicone bands regularly.

I think it just depends if you want to keep it traditional or not. If your FH wants to wear some sort of engagement ring, then that would be fine. We are keeping it traditional and haven't even had a conversation about him wearing a ring. Do I want other people to know he is engaged? Of course! Haha, but I rather wait until the big day for him to wear his ring Smiley smile

I can understand that and it's not necessary at all.

That's a great idea. I have a job where it may get damaged too and I have checked out the silicone rings and think they would work too.

Of course you want others to know and I know the feeling. I like the idea of tradition but we have also talked about the mens engagement ring recently.

I wouldn't mind getting one for him, but FH is the one that doesn't want to wear one until we get married.

Seems expensiveand he likely won’t be able to wear it with the wedding band because they’re thicker.

My FH would not be about that idea, he is pretty traditional and honestly I'd rather not. I'll save the money and get a good wedding ring for him!

The problem I would think is when you get married, would he wear both like you (typically)? Or just put it aside in memory? In that case its totally up to you and your budget, its unique but not for all

I didn't even know this is a thing. He doesn't have one, and I don't think this is really necessary.

No, he's getting one ring and he will wear it after our wedding.

I have brought about 5 rings so far. He changes his out depending on what he is wearing. I also got him the rubber band for when he works out. We have one in the box for the big ceremony, but he wears the others now.

It's a unique idea and not necessary. He could choose which one to wear or wear it on his other hand.
