Engagement ring and band don’t match up perfectly?

I just got my wedding band made and love it and how it looks with my e ring. My SIL has the original band that went with the ring so I was trying to find something similar to the original (which had hearts on the band) and found this one and instantly thought it was perfect. I love the look together but didn’t think of this at the time that the bands don’t match up well from bottom because my e ring band is so thin. I’m going back to the jeweler to see if she has any ideas (they do custom pieces) so going to ask if I can get a new shank on my e ring that is thicker if that is even a thing that can be done? Or maybe I’m just over thinking it. Thoughts? Anyone else have a e ring and band that don’t match up perfectly?
