When should we take engagement pictures? Wedding date is May 24, 2020 an it’s a holiday weekend.

Anytime before May 24, 2020. If you want to use engagement photos for save the dates and you plan to send save the dates out 6-8 months before the wedding, I would schedule them in the next 2 months or so.

We took engagement pictures right after we got engaged two years ago and just got new ones done in September. I think it really just depends on if you’re using them for save the dates or anything.

The save the date consideration was our main driver of timeline for getting ours taken. I like that there will be about 10 months between when those were shot and our wedding- capturing who we were in that moment. It was also nice to use them as gifts to our family at holiday time- I made photo books for the parents/grands and they were a huge hit! Also, holiday cards, if your into that.

Go with your fav season or sooner if you are using it for save the dates like others have suggested.
