Engagement pictures on Save the Dates?

Just curious on everyone's opinions on Save the Dates. I've been to 5 weddings in the last 2 years and all but one had their engagement pictures on their STDs. Is this becoming the norm? Or is it still just as common to not have a picture at all on them?

We used an engagement photo on our STD's but I have seen them done both ways, with and without. I wanted to add a personal touch to ours. On visa print they have plenty nice designs without pics. Smiley smile

A couple I know put a picture of heir cute little dog on the save the date, which I thought was funny. Totally them.

I think even if it's not an engagement photo, some kind of personal photo of the two of you just adds a nice touch. You could include something related to your relationship, or wedding theme.

Here a mock up of mine, the background is a picture I took of Mt Rainier a few years ago, a place both my FH and I love.

I've seen both ways. The pictures are nice, but not necessary. I didn't even do STDs.

We used our engagement pics for a few reasons. 1) many guests will only know one of us, so using pics will let them at least recognize the other half of the couple at the wedding. 2) I loved our e-pics, and it made me sad we would be the only ones to see them. 3) it cost the same as a basic template, and felt more personalized than a template alone.
