Engagement pictures on Save the Dates?

BeachyBrideToBe, on July 18, 2016 at 2:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 24

Just curious on everyone's opinions on Save the Dates. I've been to 5 weddings in the last 2 years and all but one had their engagement pictures on their STDs. Is this becoming the norm? Or is it still just as common to not have a picture at all on them?

We didn't have an e-pic on ours and instead chose a template on Vistaprint. I've personally seen like 50/50 with my friends STDs.

    I don't think it's mandatory, it's just a nice touch.

We had a picture on our magnet of us but they weren't engagement photos.

My FH hates taking photos and doesn't want to take engagement photos so I don't have a professional pic of us to use on a save the date. I'm hoping that we will attend an event in the near future where there is a professional photographer present and we can get a good pic that I can use for a save the date card for our out of town guest. If that doesn't happen then I will send some out with no pic. :-(

I don't think it's mandatory, especially since save the dates aren't even a necessity (except for DW). A friend of mine pointed out, they would rather hang a STD with their friends on it as opposed to a plain one with just the date.

I think it's just personal preference. FH and I are not picture people.

Our magnets had our engagement pics on them, but it is not necessary to have them on there.

I won't be putting them on mine. For our engagement party, there was a pic on the invite. My FH thinks it is a bit pretentious to keep sending out pics of ourselves. So I've been searching for beautiful styles without pictures.

We used a picture from our engagement photos, but certainly not necessary.

We used e-pics for ours. We paid good money for our pics and our photographer was amazing. I wanted to use them where I could. I did return label wraps on my invites and the back portion of the wrap has a pic too.

I'm leaning more towards using an engagement picture on our save the dates. I think our invites will be more plain/won't have a picture of us on it. I'm really liking the idea of taking a 'Thank You' picture at the wedding to send out on thank you notes.

I didn't do them, and I haven't received them for the last round of weddings either.

We had an engagement pic on our STDs just because we wanted to! Seems like I have been seeing 75% with and 25% without. So it is probably becoming the norm, but is by no means required!

We will be using our engagement photo on the STD picture. That's the plan anyways.

We have a picture but it isn't engament pictures. It's just a fun picture of us from last year before we got engaged.

I've seen both. We personally don't feel the pictures are necessity and kind of a waste of money (absolutely no offense to those who have them, I know I'm the minority there). So we're just doing a plain std with our colors and such.

It's just preference. Save the dates aren't necessary but if you want them and it fits your budget, do it.

You can always have them designed and then get a sample.

We didn't do our engagement pics on ours, in fact, we had a graphic designer create a save the date we could email. Mailed ones just get tossed anyway and we chose to spend more money on the invites. We had a website created for us where we had more of engagement pics, bridal party bios, etc. we've received a ton of compliments on it.

I kept all STD that I received with pictures on them. In turn I have decided to have a picture on my STD. I won't do so for the invitations . But I agree it is personal preference
