Engagement Photos Vent

Soon2BSmith, on October 16, 2019 at 7:27 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 5
Everything that could’ve went wrong has gone wrong in preparation for my engagement photos.
- Got the dress it, it looks ok in person. Decided to go with it and I’m just having the hardest time accessorizing it.
- Finally decided to buy 2 different sets of jewelry, go to try it on with the dress and the zipper breaks on the dress. Took it to the seamstress today, $35 just to fix the zipper.
- And I still don’t like either set of accessories.
- Finally get my shoes in today, and they are too big. I double check to make sure I ordered the correct size, they are right size. 🤷🏽‍♀️
- The the MUA I wanted Isn’t taking any ppl this weekend.
-And to top it all off, it’s suppose to pour the entire day of the shoot. So, now we’re driving 2 hours away to get away from the rain.
My FH, who works 2 jobs, was able to get this particular weekend off from both, and the photographer isn’t shooting any weddings this weekend. So, I really wanted to try to make it work this weekend. Praying everything comes together. 🙄

Breathe !!! It’ll be okay! It’s about you and your FH - not the location, dress, accessories. It will be perfect bc you’ll be able to look back at these pictures with loving memories of your relationship! Don’t stress it . Take a break from over thinking !!! — post some pics and let us see !!

You might actually be able to get some stunning photos in the rain! It might not be exactly what you planned, but sometimes things happens for a reason!

I actually wore an outfit from my closet because I knew I loved it. Maybe look in your closet for an outfit you feel better about? Sometimes that "comfort" can make things just a bit better. Good luck!

Okay I totally feel you because I did my engagement shoot about 2 weeks ago and it didn’t go to plan whatsoever. This might make you better. Buckle up for this novel:
I’ve gained weight so I was already self conscious going into this but tried to make the best of it. I found this gorgeous location and photographer on instagram and planned it all out. The location was 5 hours away + a 30 min hike (it was in the Smokey mountains) but we decided to go for it. I got up early and spent 2 hours curling my hair, putting extensions in and wrapping it so it would last during the car ride. I brought all of my make up to do in the car so it would be fresh. Photographer wanted us to get there about 2 hours before sunset. I had the worst car sickness I’ve ever had so I could barely sit up to do my make up. Because of that I didn’t love how it turned out. We also hit stopped traffic which left us with only 1 hour of daylight to work with and we still needed to hike up. On top of everything it was raining that day which I prepared for with a clear umbrella. What I didn’t expect was fog so thick that you literally couldn’t see 5 feet in front of you. That means no mountains. We did 10 hours of driving in one day to be in the mountains. Every once in a while the fog would dissipate for a brief second and we’d have to run into position. I didn’t even think about the fact that the wind + humidity would make my hair fall out and frizz up. That and the fact that my extensions were no longer blended because my hair and the other hair respond differently to humidity. We brought a bottle of champagne to do a fizzy popping bottle picture and it completely failed. Also, My dress was too big so I literally did the worst job sewing what I could in the car on the way there. Although our photographer was nice, it wasn’t what I was expecting. We were rushed and it was freezing and I lost all confidence in how I looked. We paid a lot of money to do destination photos. As much as I’d like to say that we had a blast regardless and our love is all that matters blah blah blah, we were definitely disappointed. I’m telling myself that there might be a few gems but she showed us some of the photos on her camera as she was taking them and I absolutely hated the way I looked and to be honest, that is important since these are photos that we’ll have in our home forever. So I definitely get where you’re coming from. I hope it all worked out or will work out for you. We decided that if we don’t like them we’ll just do another round of engagement photos but we won’t travel for them this time haha.
