Anyone else have this issue? My photographers' photos I've seen on Instagram and from his most recent works of weddings looked amazing. I had my engagement shoot Sunday and I was worried because I know I don't know my best angles to pose. Anyways, he did a very quick turnaround on the photos and they were great shots BUT I can't help but feel like I ruined it. There were a lot where my chin just looked weird and I had a double chin going on in a lot! I know I gained some weight but dang, didn't know it'd do a number to my jaw line lol, all my weight goes to my cheeks!. So I asked him permission for me to photoshop it since I didn't want to wait longer lol. He allowed me to "fix" them. I didn't change my face shape or anything, I just made it look like how it would've if I had just extended my jaw and not have any photos of having me look down. I also had bra back fat roles in my red dress that I smoothed out. Just wondering if anyone else felt this way? Anyway, here are some photos to share that I fixed. Before, it looked like I had a bit of a turkey neck going on... now I'm WORRIED about the wedding. Maybe there's some chin exercises I can do.

I think you're basing your assumption on faulty logic - that having a double chin is something bad and should be erased. Not everyone feels this way, and unless you told your photographer, he probably didn't see the need to erase what you see as your "double chin." I put that in quotes because in your unedited photos I don't really see it. However, we all have insecurities so I get it. Just be sure to communicate those insecurities with your photographer so he will know next time. He will help with poses to detract from showing a "double chin" and then at your request/permission, will photoshop any perceived (perceived by you) flaws. But I think it would have been rude of him to do that first without your request/permission.

I know exactly how you feel!! I noticed in some of our engagement photos (more than half I’d say) I had a major double chin that I don’t normally have in pictures! I think it was mainly because of the angles he was shooting at, but I totally agree with you that you’d think a photographer would edit those kinds of things. I downloaded Facetune and edited them myself pretty much just fixing my double chin and my fiancé’s under eye area. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who experienced this!!

If it makes you feel better, here is some real double-chin action. Smiley tongue When I step back I enjoy the personality and love in our photos but I HATE how I look. I do think you look good, but I totally get being self-critical.

I don't know what to do for the wedding either, except I am going to ask for lots of photos from a high angle (top of staircase, stepstool -- anything I can find). But you did a great job touching up. Maybe I should invest in Photoshop. But after a long, long span of being un-photogenic, high angles are my go-to.

I think you look amazing! I don’t see any double chin anywhere, but we’re our own worst critics. I’m guilty of this too! Just remember how perfect this moment with your sweetheart was ❤️ That is all that truly matters 🤗

Beautiful! I definitely have a constant worry that I'm gonna ruin my photos because I've also gained weight. My face is noticeably fat and if I smile big, it looks like my eyes are closed. My side profile is hideous to me. My teeth aren't straight and that bugs me because they used to be but after my braces, it went downhill from there lol. I'm excited to take them but at the same time, I'm also definitely not looking forward to it Smiley sad

You will always be your own biggest critic. Try your hardest not to be too hard on yourself, you really are gorgeous Smiley heart My best friend had the same critiques on herself the whole time, looking at her wedding pictures. But photoshop will be your best friend to just airbrush out those little tiny imperfections. It's totally normal to be critical, and I'll be the 100th person to tell you not to worry, and that you're gorgeous. Don't stress too much. Smiley smile

Omg the down and too the side is the worst angle! Our photographer did those too.

Also, there are a few where FH was supposed to put his hand on my waist but the angle made it look like it was on my stomach maternity photo style...not the most flattering 😂
On the plus side, engagement pictures are a good trial for what to not do in your wedding ones.

No, we're in Indiana and doing a destination wedding in Florida so we booked one down there. I will make sure she's watching out for this stuff though 😂

I have no skill but so tempting! There were some I’m not a fan of and it was so windy I have a pics where it looks like I have a bald sport that only appears in these pictures! I wouldn’t butcher changing them and thankfully we got a ton and I think our photographer clued in yonby one “bad look/side”. I know when I’m happy my face gets and squishy and dimply...not a great look but I can’t help it! Our photographer spent the whole shoot saying “smile a little less” 😂 and retaking a bunch of shots!

I literally got coolsculpting on my chin just because I saw the pictures of him proposing and my chins took over the whole photo every time.

Wow, didn’t know you could do that, how’s the end result? I started doing facial and chin exercises 😂. That’s my plan ain’t with some more working out and working on my positioning of the face.

You are not the only one, My Fiance and I decided to have our Engagement Pics in a few months. This will give me enough time to lose some of the weight I gained. However, you look Great in your pictures!!

So far really good! It takes a few months to see full results because the frozen fat cells need to be broken down and filtered out. Definitely worth it so far.

Nothing wrong with a bit of subtle photo editing. Even celebrities aren't perfect. The first couple of pictures don't even show your chin lol. Maybe you are especially self conscious about it. You did a good job though. It can be a little secret. Some photographers even edit pictures sometimes without mentioning subtle things. It's not a big deal. Everyone does it.

No need for photoshop. It's so expensive. Facetune is a very easy app to use or pixlr if you are more advanced. You were self conscious so I thought I'd help. It only took 3 minutes and I was bored. Sorry if I'm being weird. Hope you like it!
