Engaged and married the same day?

I saw that! I thought it was really heartwarming that he wanted to make sure that she got what she wanted! My FH would have looked at me like I was nuts lol

I loved it and very emotional. Even though I would like to plan my wedding to the flowers to the dress, etc. I still would had loved it because it will save me the time, money and stress

There was a thread about that this morning, and I still think I'd be pretty upset to have an entire wedding sprung on me. I freak out a little if our dinner plans change unexpectedly....Also I'm enjoying being engaged and planning this shindig together.

It had me tearing up! I wouldn't have been able to handle it though. I'm glad her significant other knew her well enough to do this for her, she seemed over the moon happy!

Cute but I like my engagement..: I am enjoying our life as fiancés...and I'm too much of a " I want it done a certain way" to let someone do it all for me...

When I kept hearing about it ..I was mad like she didn't even get to enjoy being engaged but when I watched the video I cried my eyes out you can tell he really loved her ..he got everything down to dress all for her.. It was so sweet and beautiful

I would be mortified! My FH is not as detailed oriented as I am, so I could only picture myself looking at everything and not truly being able to enjoy the moment. I've seen these surprise weddings entirely too much, but all uniquely done. To each, their own. I enjoy being engaged and I have enjoyed the planning thus far. That's a great question about the marriage license. There was a show on TLC or Bravo when men did this, but when they popped the question, they asked if their bride would marry them THAT day. So at least she was able to wear a wedding gown. Details like that would make me happy.

What would have happened if she had said no, though?

ETA: It would have bothered me a little bit because although we both love each other we both want different things in a wedding and we are having to compromise on things and if he had planned it himself there would have been a lot of things/people missing and some people there that might not should have been just because he is too nice! Lol

I haven't seen this yet, but I just mentioned it to FH and we both decided it wouldn't be super great for us. FH wouldn't want to take the fun of planning away from me, and I would be wayyyy to overwhelmed with all of that at once..

I loved it, and was overjoyed with her...it looked really genuine, but I think you go through the test of being engaged, planning, and then it all coming together in the end. I will be just as emotional on our day that we planned ourselves.

Of course, I wonder about the license because in most states, you both have to sign it.
