My fiance and I have been together for nearly 5 years. Our wedding date is set for August 2020, however, we have been wanting to elope this summer August 2019. We are tired of waiting and want to elope. We would still have a ceremony to renew our vowels and have the reception for all friends and family members that they want and expect. I still want to have a reception and ceremony but we also want to elope Is this so wrong to do..any suggestions??

There's nothing wrong with eloping now and having a celebration later, as long as you're up front with your guests about already being married.

I agree with PP. Let people know that you’re eloping because you two want to get married and that you can’t wait to celebrate with your friends and family a year leather.

Nope! I've seen this done before where the big "wedding" the couple could afford was almost one year after their real anniversary. Do what you want, especially if you don't want to be married to your love!

This sounds like the perfect plan! Yup, you can have a vow renewal with friends & family and do any of the wedding traditions you wish: wear the attire, first dances, cake cutting, etc.

I think that this is a great plan! Many people do something similar. If you don't want to wait, then don't. That doesn't stop you from still being able to celebrate at a later time with family and friends.
