Elopement dress ideas

We do about 100 elopements a year, in parks and historic sites. Some of my brides wear full out wedding dresses; some of them wear cute little white dresses, some wear sweatpants. Some have bouquets, some don't, but I think you do what you want to do! In my mind, a second wedding is a leap of faith and you should feel as fabulous as possible!!!

I eloped the first time around.

I still wanted a gown so I ordered a bridesmaid dress I loved in white.

Powers2 I won't speak for Celia but I think it takes extra guts to put yourself out there again after a marriage ends.

Yes, powers, they are, but I think there is something about having walked a road that didn't end up as fabulous as we all hope and having the guts to do it again. That's really all I meant.

I don't love it when people who are getting married for the second time dismiss it as less important, less grand or less significant than a first wedding. Because it's not.

Maybe that's what she meant but this is my second wedding but my fiancé's first. I'd hate for him to feel like I was "taking a leap of faith" with him.

Wait what? You said all weddings are a leap of faith, and then said you'd hate for your fiancé to feel like you're taking a leap of faith.

I've done one elopement ceremony and it was beautiful (pictured in my avatar). She went all out for her wedding dress, but made it at home. She told me the whole dress cost her $40. I still don't know if I believe it, she looked gorgeous.

I got a dress off Amazon. It was a floor length, 3/4 sleeve lace top with a V neck back design. Cost me $70 and I think I looked great. When we have our marriage celebration, I'll be wearing a shorter, champagne colored lace dress with a petticoat underneath. It's really completely up to you.

Fellow second time bride as well, Susie G. Wear what you want, but please remember that this marriage should be just as celebrated as the first if not more. We learned our leasons from the first one and now we get a chance to use what we learned!

I understand, though, if you want different things like a different outfit; different vibe; and different decor because you don't want to carry any artifacts from the first time into the second time. I get it.

Still, please don't discount this love as it is special and important.

What do you want to wear? There are no rules on this. You can go any direction you want!

OP this is the dress I wore to the courthouse. I got it from Belk. Check out department stores in the next couple of months. They are starting to get cute white dresses in stock for the spring!
