Elopement Dinner/reception

Hi everyone, what activities can I do for a 30 person wedding? Should I hire a dj? We have like 3 main dances we still want. Will that be okay without a dj? I don’t want it to be awkward for the families to get together at all.

You can have whatever you want!

However, hiring a DJ for just 3 dances might be very expensive. You could look into it, but I'd also look into getting a good speaker system and just using your iPod or something for those three dances.

With a smaller group, many people like to mingle and talk. You could also provide some games/family stories to entertain people.

Hi Jess, we had our rehearsal dinner with 40 guests and had a steel drum soloist. I think a DJ to keep things moving and to provide light music as guests arrive, etc. would be worth it. For me, I liked the sound, microphones, were all taken care of. It minimized my stress level knowing the “vibe” would be there ❤️

I had a 20 peesin wedding and did not have a DJ.
However, my husband and I still had a grand entrance and first dance. I made various Spotify playlists using their premium option — the best thing ever. My day of coordinator managed the playlists during the reception, and it worked like a charm.

I wouldn’t hire a DJ. Sharonda has fabulous ideas for your music.
