Eloped in 2018 - Vow Renewal in 2020

My husband and I decided to elope in December 2018 because we really couldn’t afford to swing a wedding. We did book a venue for 2020 and have since started planning. Everyone knows we are already married and know we are having an actual wedding-type ceremony next year. When sending out invitations (I’m skipping save the dates) would you send it as a wedding invitation or a vow renewal?

Definitely vow renewal since you’re legally married. I would find it weird to get an invitation to a “wedding” of someone I knew was married.

A vow renewal. Married people can’t have weddings.

Echoing the vow renewal! I think it’s appropriate to say something like “Alyssa and Mr. Alyssa married in a private ceremony in 2018, but have always wanted to celebrate and share their commitment with their friends and family. Please join them for a ceremony renewing their vows. Reception with dinner and dancing to follow.”

    Hey Alyssa!

I would also recommend you say vow renewal on the invitation Smiley smile

Do you plan on creating them yourself? Or working with a vendor?
