Hi! I know my wedding is still just under 4 months away but we are trying to stay on top of planning and I was wondering what are some important details/things that scatter-brained, busy people like myself may be forgetting? For example it JUST crossed my mind that I haven't even looked into getting a garter and completely forgot about getting a cake topper. I read a thread yesterday about using a closed or locked card box to prevent potential theft from occurring which was something I had never even thought of. What are some things that you may have forgotten about until the last minute or details that you almost overlooked? My own wedding will actually be the first wedding I've attended (all my friends were married in courthouses) and I've got all the checklists in the world but find everyday that there's something else I'm forgetting!

I just tried to close my eyes and picture myself walking through the day. Then, I made a list of everything that was happening/that was there and tried to step back from the to make lists of things that needed to be done/organized/made (and when to do it) and what items we needed to have.

But at the end of the day, there will probably be something you forget, but as long as it's not the wedding license, it doesn't really matter Smiley smile

Do check your state to make sure you know if there's a waiting period for your license!

I think other than the small details, my best piece of advice would be to make detailed notes of all the small things and where they are. I bought things like the garter, reception tiara, stickers for our shoes, and notebooks for our wine box, but I wasn't entirely organized and missing using those things the day of. It still makes me sad to see the pictures of the end of our first dance because you see the bottom of our shoes and it was supposed to have the 'I do. Me too.' stickers.

Rings! We bought them, but left them.

Luckily in my craze, I had put them in the car, and the car was at the wedding!

    Yay!

I am a big fan of lists. Also, my FSIL came over the other day to help me organize everything. There is a box for every place at the reception and ceremony. Basically put the things in the box for that table. For example, my cake table box has the linens, table decor and the cake cutting set. It takes up space, but it works for now. It is only 2 weeks of living that way for us. I completely understand the panic mode though, that hit me last week.
