Early Morning Hair and Makeup

Heather, on November 6, 2012 at 10:25 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Hi Everyone!

I am getting married on July 20, 2013 in River Vale, NJ. I have to have my entire bridal party dressed and ready to go by 8am. I have about 10-12 women/girls getting their hair done and about 8-10 women getting make up done. I would like to have hair stylists and makeup artists come to the Woodcliff Lake Hilton where we are staying at 5 am. I am thinking I need 4 hair stylists and 3-4 makeup artists. I am having a really hard time finding this many people for such an early session. If anyone has any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated!

Heather

I had hair and make-up for myself, my twin girls (age 19) and my best chick (age 12 - make up only) we started at 7:00 am and all 4 of us were done by 8:30 am!

One MUA and 2 hair stylists.

We DID have a hair trial only, so the stylists knew exactly what to do. Since you have MANY ppl in your party - I would suggest getting trials done for you and your BP.

I'm in Northern DE - I'm not sure where River Vale, NJ is. I used Gloss Salon - very professional group!

I asked my regular stylist for recommendations of others who would be willing to work early (not that early, though). Then ask those for more recommendations....

Contact Dee, from Deeva Beauty (she's on here). I've had the pleasure of marrying several of her brides in the last few weeks, and they all looked gorgeous. She is in Nutley, not that far from Woodcliff Lake, and she's a doll to work with. I know she has a network of other pros she works with too.

Good luck; if you're where I think you are, it's going to be a fab wedding! (Was just there last week!)

Heather, if you want to send me an email with the particulars and details.

I just recently (2 weeks ago) did a bridal party of 11 (bride + 10 ) for both hair and makeup and they all had to be ready for 9 am.

Two hair stylist and 2 makeup artists made it work. We arrived at 5 AM at the hotel.

Since you have to be ready for 8:00 instead of 9:00 you might need a third hair stylist and a third makeup artist but you do not need 4.

3 of each is all you need depending on the final head count for each.

In other words if it is only 8 for makeup you definitely only need 2 artists for makeup thats all.

If you need help please reach out to me.

    ~Deirdre

I did the make up myself, and it turned out very cute, i did have knowledge on bridal make up, i actually study make up. But you should really get a trial before if you plan on having a make up artist and seriously, take somebody that has quite good reviews. My advice is to go for classic bridal make up, this way you don't take any risk, she won't screw it with it for sure, and i mean 3 matte shadows and a pearly one, it looks great on pictures too.

I went for a classic one and here's a picture of how it looked like!

About your questions, i had the same problem, the session was really early, so that's why i did the make up myself.
