Early June brides, postponing?

Addie, on March 18, 2020 at 1:56 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 4

My wedding date is 6/6. Right now we are just holding out and waiting. We are from the Dallas Metroplex and thankfully we chose a venue an hour outside of the Metroplex, where there are currently no confirmed cases of the virus. I contacted our venue to which they said they are not canceling any weddings, but they are only allowed to have 125 people in venue at the moment. This is fine because we really only want 100 at the wedding. Many of our guests will be coming from out of town, but they won't have to fly. Any suggestions?

I was originally scheduled for 03/29 but my wedding venue in Denton TX postponed weddings that are from now to 05/10 (even though I only have 25 guest). I am now rescheduled for 06/07. After seeing other countries, the only thing I can imagine is that things will get worst. Hopefully the worst is next month and maybe by May will be better. I wouldn’t do anything just yet. Keep an eye on your emails in case any vendors need to cancel, and just keep waiting. Good luck!

Hi Addie! Like Jasmine said, I'd sit tight for now with a June wedding date and monitor the situation as things develop.

We're thinking of you! Smiley heart This is definitely a crazy stressful and uncertain time for everyone! We've started gathering helpful resources in our COVID-19 Wedding Support Central, and you can connect with other June brides in the same situation here: June 2020 brides: freaking out?

Hi date twin! I had a mental breakdown the other day and one of my best friends told me to breathe and we’ll re-address mid-April. Until then, we’ve decided to proceed business as usual. I did have to reach out to my vendors and figure out their policy, especially in regards to payment to put my mind at ease but they were all very reassuring.

    Hey! Fellow date twin.
We still have 11 and a half weeks.
I'm choosing to believe that it will all work out.People are staying at home and this will help to slow and contain the virus.I will address the possibility of changing something if things haven't made a turn for the better by the end of April, when the remaining balance of our Honeymoon is due.My mama passed two years ago. When I think about my wedding, a feeling of peace washes over me that is hard to explain.I think it's my Mama reassuring me, that it will be ok.Early June brides, postponing? 1
