Dyeable Shoes

FutureMrs.Combs, on January 13, 2014 at 12:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

I'm trying to find places that do dyeable shoes for my bridesmaids, but Payless no longer does it and neither does DSW. David's Bridal still does it, but, they're kind of pricey. Does anyone know of any other stores or websites that do it? Or, where I can buy some kind of fabric spray paint and we can do it ourselves?

I was going to say that I'm sure any bridal place will do it, (Davids, House of Brides, Eva's bridal, etc...).

Michaels has some fabric spray, (I included a link). I would buy some sample fabric in whatever your shoes are and try it out first though!

Really? I got mine dyed at David's and it only cost me an extra $5. But then I also bought my shoes from them.

Check local shoe repair places, they might do it.

This is where I did mine. Very pleased. They also have a huge selection of shoes that they can dye. They have pretty much all the david bridal's colors and all the alfred angelo colors or you can send in a custom color.

    My dyed shoes are attached.

I keep reading that the dyes aren't waterproof and can stain your feet (and maybe dress). Anybody have issues with that?

When I asked my local David's Bridal about dyeing shoes, they said they wouldn't do it unless I bought my shoes from them. Smiley sad

My shoes were on sale at David's bridal for $30 and it was only an extra $5 to dye them. I wouldn't call that expensive.

Tiki - if your feet are sweaty (ew, sorry), they will stain a little bit, but will come off in the shower the next day. They are not water proof. For me, it was worth the risk because I couldn't find that color and that low of a heel.

@GameCox - Thanks! That doesn't seem so bad. I didn't want to have blue feet my whole honeymoon, lol.
