Dry wedding is still a fun wedding right?

Kayla, on June 24, 2017 at 6:07 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 103

So my venue doesn't allow alcohol we don't drink but both families do thoughts or suggestions on ways to make up for this

Find a venue that serves alcohol.

I literally never understand these posts, because if a venue didn't serve alcohol it wouldn't even be considered for me.

A dry wedding is not a fun wedding. The good thing is you still have time to find a new one. Try the vendors tabs, there are lots of options!

Nether I never r my family drinks but we are having an open bar for those who do. I suggest looking at other venues options.

You have enough to find another. The only dry wedding I went to honestly sucked and everyone almost seemed uncomfortable. I would say stick to what you got if your wedding was sooner but you have so much time!

You don't get married often, might as well make it a party!

Are any of your guests drinkers? If so it definitely won't have the same party vibe as a reception with an open bar.

If you can go out and have a good time without drinking, I can't imagine why a wedding would be any different.

If you are in love with your venue I wouldn't worry about the no alcohol. Theres no reason why your guests shouldn't understand. There's also no reason why you should change your whole venue for one little aspect of the whole wedding.

@Kate its the brides day if she loves the venue and the only little downfall is no alcohol then she should still do what she wants. The guests are there to support the couple. If the experience depends that much on alcohol in your opinion then something is wrong.

I personally don't drink so I wouldn't care with or without alcohol, but the people who do drink, like my FH, would not be happy at all!

It depends. For us, we are having a mid morning wedding with a brief reception at the venue. After that, everyone is driving out to my parents' ranch for a big afternoon/evening party.

    No alcohol at the venue.

Yes alcohol at the "after party," but we are providing only beer and wine.

Ultimately, it is your wedding. Have it the way you want it!

No alcohol is not a "little downfall" or a "little aspect." That and food are the biggest part of the reception.

And the second you invite one guest, it stops being about you.

@amanda no , it's not the brides day.

The last wedding I went to was a cashbar. So they HAD booze available and people still left early cause it wasn't available without spending $30 for 2 drinks

    @Amanda "it's your day" isn't a reason to be a crappy host.
