My FH and I have decided to have a dry reception (our venue requires us to have wedding insurance if we offer alcohol and the insurance alone is $300). We never told anyone that we planned on having alcohol and many people have assumed we arent because we dont drink ourselves. Should we tell people...

I have only been to one dry wedding and no we were not 'warned' it was dry.
We had a lot of fun.
(I might have danced better - or maybe not) lol

I have done many dry wedding receptions I actually Done one this weekend... as long as you have a good interactive DJ and good food LOL things will go Justice plan maybe even consider putting in a photo booth for more activities for the guests. The couple I done the wedding for this weekend had a corner of the hall decorated very nice and they had a Polaroid camera on a table for people to walk over and take pictures of each other... sometimes the only thing I really noticed about a dry wedding they may end a little earlier than a wedding with alcohol which is no problem at all....

I don't think a small note on your website would hurt. Then the truly desperate drinkers can sneak in a flask 😉
