Drop in mailbox or hand to postal person?

I know this is a very weird question, but I am concerned about loosing invitations. Did you just drop them in the box and hope for the best? Or did you hand to the post lady/man inside at the counter?

I am taking mine to the post office just to make sure I don't need any extra postage on them.

I dropped my STDs off in a mailbox and some people never got theirs. I will definitely drop off the invites at the post office.

I dropped part in an inside box for our family thats traveling much further, and then two days later I dropped our local guests into a mailbox outside a grocery store I drive by on my way to work. As far as we know, everyone has gotten theirs!

I dropped in the slot AT the post office.
It was important to me to leave them there, but I figure they’re safe once they’re inside.

as a warning, I would NOT leave them in the blue boxes on the street outside. In my neighborhood “fishing” happens where people come with a string and clip and steal mail. I’ve noticed recently on the boxes there’s a sticker that says not to leave mail in them overnight— only drop your letters during the daytime BEFORE the last posted pick up time on the box

I just was thinking about this today! We dropped our STDs in the box at the post office, & I’m hoping they all get to their destinations!

I already weighed mine, so I'm not worried about that. I'll still take them to the counter just to be sure. Why not it takes an exta few min.

I went inside of a postal annex, and dropped them in the box after getting them weighed for the correct postage.

I just put mine in the mailbox. I can see my mailbox from my window so I could watch and make sure nothing happened to them.

Our local post offices are AWESOME! (I always fill out the surveys too) I brought my invitations in to hand cancel them. They said they would take care of it, but I said it was no problem for me to do it myself (I walked in 20 minutes before closing on the Saturday before President's Day). Took just a few minutes to hand cancel 50 of them. I also wanted to hand canceled other envelopes at our other post office. They are always so friendly and they'll take care of it. I just like the look of it, and knowing that they're all officially inside and 'sent' together. Plus it was rainy! I loved putting our invitations together.

This sticker, for the record, is what scared me away from dropping in the blue box...I was like “oookay, going to the post office!”

Oooooooo maybe you convinced me to put them in the mail this weekend.

I literally have a epic battle in my head every day if I should send them out or not
