Hey everyone!

Lets talk drinks! I was strict about only having beer and wine at our wedding, we didn’t want people to go overboard but we know sometimes it’s inevitable for some. But now I’m thinking I don’t want to be too cheap, what do you think about beer, wine, and a his and hers drink? Our venue has just about unlimited options for beer and wine so people will still be able to have their favorites. Or should we consider an open bar... thanks! 😄

We are doing beer and wine only. But we are not having a very formal event either. I agree with PPs - as long as guests don't have to pay for it, whatever you choose is fine!

Our wedding was fine with just beer and wine but the his and hers signature drinks would add a fun personal option!

We’re having an open bar because it’s included in our reception venues meal pricing.

If you are limiting because you don't want people to get drunk I am here to tell you that the group I went out with on Saturday was drunk off beer.

If you are limiting due to budget then I am fully ok with a beer and wine only or beer/wine/signature drink and I don't even really like beer or wine, but I could find something I liked.

We are doing an open bar because I am a vodka girl and he is a tequila man.

We are doing an open bar, with some limitation. I don't like the idea of people having to pay for drinks at my wedding. We will have beer and wine. We will also have popular mixed drinks, such as rum & coke, gin & tonic, vodka & cranberry, etc. Also having two signature cocktails, mine will be sweet, FH's will be a little bitter. I won't have EVERYTHING a bar will have. You won't be able to order a sidecar, or comso or anything like that. Just your basic liquor.

We are doing an open bar. We provide all the liquor and beer and wine and everything and we hired an outside company to come in and serve for us. We provide alcohol they provide service, ice and mixers.

We plan on having a his and hers cocktail during cocktail hour with beer and wine available (to speed things up for people as this will be the first chance for people to get drinks). After cocktail hour we will open the bar fully for liquor mixed drinks.

Our bar will have full abilities to make pretty much everything. His cocktail will either be a moscow mule or a manhatten and mine will be a blue lightening (like a raspberry lemonade type drink). Once full bar opens it will be Gin, rum, vodka, whiskey, scotch and tequila, beer, white wine, red wine and champagne.

Mixers will be: Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale

Orange, Cranberry, Grapefruit, Pineapple JuicesTonic Water, Soda WaterBloody Mary Mix (Zing Zang), Sweet & Sour Mix, Rose's Lime Juice, GrenadineFresh Lemons & Limes, Green Olives, Maraschino Cherries*Additional mixers available upon request: Margarita Mix, White Grape Juice, Sweet & Unsweet Tea, Lemonade, Simple Syrup, Margarita salt. Other requests welcomed.

We are on a tight budget due to paying for everything on our own and also buying a house this year. What we are planning on for sure is buying two kegs. Then MAYBE a bottle of wine or two for each table. The kegs at our venue are $275 and a bottle of wine is $12, so we are already spending enough money just doing that.

We are doing a full open bar, but we are also a group of people who enjoy our beverages. It’s also cheaper for us to have the open bar as opposed to beer, wine and a signature drink. I just want to point out that by limiting the bar to beer and wine does not mean that people can’t/won’t overindulge. If that is a concern, you need to make sure your venue is on board with cutting people off if needed. Whatever you decide to do will be fine!

We are doing a certain amount of beer and wine and unlimited soda. Once the beer and wine is gone, thats all we are supplying then it will turn into a cash bar.
Our venue didnt even offer a open bar, and i was glad...me and my fh dont even drink, and we didnt want to spend a crazy amount of money on alcohol

We are just doing open beer/wine! We don't even have signature drinks, but we get 5 different wines, 4 different beers, champagne, and soda/iced tea. We figured that was plenty!
