Dresses not ordered

Leave them alone. As long as they have the dress by my wedding date it literally doesn't matter if they order by an arbitrary deadline.

"Hey, just wanted to remind you to make sure you get your dress by X date so that it's here in time for you to be in the wedding!"

(implying they won't be in the wedding if they don't have the dress on time, but without actually like "threatening" that)

My wedding is in Oct of 2020, I have given all my girls the freedom to select their dresses as long as they are in the color I picked; I did give them a deadline to have them selected and bought (May 2020). My reasoning for this was, I know most of my girls are going to be proactive and there is only one I am worried about stalling, my oldest daughter.

It has already been a struggle with her and just getting her to glance and look through the ideas we have all shared. I love her BUT, I will tell her that if she doesn't have it done by then we will have to find a stand in for her. (I know it sounds mean) I know my daughter better than anyone, hearing that as the deadline approaches will kick her booty in high gear and she will get it done.

I didn't even start looking for my wedding dress until less than 6 months out - BM's certainly dont' need to have the dress this early. You really shouldn't be involved at all, and I would just tell the bride exactly what I said before - leave them alone. Treat them like adults and assume it will get done. If it doesn't, then they're not bridesmaids anymore and they've made that decision for themselves.

This doesn't need to be stressful for anyone.
