Nope. Not at all. I'm not wearing white either. I'm not sure what color I am wearing yet, but I can be sure it's not white.

My fiance loves the outdoors and wants my dress to be outdoor camo with one of our two colors blue as the sash.

It's your wedding day. However you imagine it to be, that's what you should do. Is it Orthodox or traditional to not wear white? No, but if that's not who you are, don't worry!

I'd expect surprised comments from especially older family members, but it's not their day. I'm planning a black or black and white dress and won't tell my mom or grandmother in advance so I don't have to listen to it.

It depends on your reason for now wearing white.
My reasoning to why I'm not wearing white is because when I get married I wouldn't be a virgin. Only virgins usually wear white anyway according to how it's supposed to be.
But I feel you can wear whatever you like that makes you happy!

You can wear white if you really want to! The tradition of wearing white has absolutely nothing to do with virginity. Back in the day, women would just wear their best dress to get married. In 1840, Queen Victoria wore a white dress for her wedding. White was a luxury because, in those times, people did not often bathe or do laundry often (wedding bouquets were also created to make the bride smell nice for this reason as well). White was hard to keep clean and could basically only be worn once, so it was considered a luxury only available to the super wealthy. This trend continued on because, as it became more attainable, people wanted to wear white to show that they had the wealth and status to do so.

Thank you for your response. From my religion and what I was taught is what I spoke on. Everyone has plenty of reasons why you can or can't do something. What they know, what they learned, etc. I spoke on mine period. Nothing more, nothing less. That's why I said supposed to be. Virgin Mary (white) unity... christianity. Anyway have a great day!

You should wear what makes you comfortable and happy! White is “tradition” but doesn’t mean it has to be yours. There are so many beautiful dresses out there in different colors, it’ll make your dress unique and yours!

Of course not! You wear whatever YOU like. With accent being on you though & not your FH lol since you said he wants you to wear a camo dress. If I was you, I’d focus on figuring out what you want to wear & go for that. I’d personally stay away from camo - combat or hunting references at a wedding are cringe worthy for me. And as a bride, you definitely don’t want to be blending with the environment lol 😆

Not at all. In fact I see so many brides here with cool alternative colors from white and ivory and it just looks so good. Whatever you'll be in you'll look gorgeous in
