Dress Topper Help Plz

Rachael, on November 11, 2018 at 2:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
So my wedding dress is the one pictured from David's Bridal, and I like it a lot (despite insane doubts I have been having today), but I'm kinda wanting to find a topper to wear with it. I love the lace ones from BHLDN, but I'm afraid that if I get a lace topper, it will clash with the lace on my dress. Would that be a problem for all lace, or are there lace patterns that would work? Or should I just get a plain tulle topper instead? (Store/website suggestions on where to look for these things would be handy too, since David's Bridal doesn't have any that I like). Thanks fam.

You can never go wrong with tulle. Some times simple is beautiful. I wish i could be more help but i agree if you get lace it might be a bit much even though the lace ones are cute. Hav who I thought about wedding jewelry? It might be a bit much but im a fan of a little bling.

I love the bling idea! I really think your dress is wonderful without the topper

I think plain tulle would work well, you don't want to hide or distract from that gorgeous ruched bodice.

That wedding jewelry is phenomenal, but it would take a special bride and special wedding to carry it off.

Thanks for the suggestions! I do love the bling, however, my wedding is outdoors and pretty casual, so I don't think it would match that style very well. I'm also trying to keep my accessories pretty minimal anyway (I know that contradicts me looking for a topper).

I agree that clashing lace isn't ideal, but if you really want a lace topper, maybe you could find one that was mostly sheer with just a lace border?

I was originally looking for a topper for my dress and I’ve noticed that a toppers work well on a dress with a blank canvas (no pattern). If you have a topper on top of your dress it ~might~ clash too much depending on the topper. I like the idea that someone mentioned of getting a shoulder jewelry or testing out toppers that are mostly sheer.

Also added a picture of me wearing a BHLDN caplet on a tulle dress. FYI, the dress isn’t fitted to me
