Dress too small!

I bought this dress second hand and it doesn’t fit! It’s a one shoulder dress in a crepe material. Im wondering if this could be altered to be backless or if adding more material is an option? LOVE the dress, just want it to fit!
Attached photos of it folded where I thought it could be altered to. However the front was very loose when I did this so would perhaps need to add additional strap?
Any advice appreciated.

I think a seamstress could make it backless and then fix the front to fit you properly. It may be very expensive though since it’s a “wedding dress”

I would take it to a good tailor/seamstress and see what they suggest. My inclination is to add a panel (or two small ones, one on either side) each at the seams that already exist under the arm.

You could also discuss with them about making it backless. OR making the back be a lace panel. They could add a panel on the back that would be in all lace that would add some detailing. You would still be able to zip (or button) it with this added panel.

Cost wise its going to depend on where you are. But it's definitely something you could change and make fit.

There also could be added illusion side panels (or could be lace) shaped as a v -- from you waist to your underarms.

Were measurements of the dress provided or did they just provide the dress size to aid in selection of it?

Lace panel in the back, lace panels on the sides, or adding a corset back are the best options. Taking it to a professional, ESTABLISHED seamstress will give you the best answer. Good Luck!

I like the idea of a lace panel in the back. But if you prefer backless that would be nice too. Hopefully you can make it work.

OMG! I purchased one NEW and it was ordered way too big for me… almost identical to yours. I had to buy a completely different one off the rack one week prior to our wedding…
Unfortunately once alterations begin it changes the look of the dress so much so I now have this beautiful dress sitting there.
I believe the only way to fix the issue with yours is possibly getting the zipper lowered and opening the back up more. Dress too small! 3

I hope you found some reasonable change. I just saw where you mentioned you had folded some of the material. One youtube channel is for Ava's Bridal Couture. The thing interesting is that she addresses various problems like this on her channel.
