Dress shopping where to go

Kenna, on January 17, 2021 at 10:36 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
I want simple for my dress. I don’t like big ball gowns as they don’t look right on my due to me being so short. I am not into a lot of lace (some is fine), and don’t like flower designs at all. Back in September my mom, step mom, soon to be mother in law and I went and looked at dresses at David’s bridal. But the majority of them are lace, flowers, or ball gowns. I am planning on getting my dress in March when my maid of honor flys up for my birthday. But I need some help finding different store(s) to go to as I don’t think David’s bridal has what I’m looking for. I am in southern IN but from OH so I don’t mind places by Indy or in OH. I just want to find something affordable that I like!

Hi Kenna!! Love your selections!! My dress was very simple as well and I found it at a boutique shop (Bridal Beginning in PA). May be a drive, but I had a wonderful experience. My dress was Badgley Mischka “Cecilia” if you want to check it out. You may find what you are looking for at smaller boutique shops ❤️

I would look at smaller boutique shops near you. The only problem is that they tend to be more expensive.

I googled “wedding dress shops in southern IN” & there was a lot that came up. I would start from there & start reading the reviews. Or maybe thumbtack.com?

I would start by looking into boutiques near you and then wait until they have trunk or sample sales. Many times bridal salons do this prior to bringing new dresses in. I live in MA and the salon I went to had a whole section of sample sale dresses. They are sold as is (some have been tried on, some haven't) and right off the rack so you take it home that day. They are sold at a discount, sometimes up to 50-70% off.

If you are near Cincinnati, I would check out the Reading Bridal District. It’s the largest bridal district in the country, and has about a dozen dress shops all within a few blocks of each other (plus lots of other wedding-oriented shops).

How about websites like Azazie and BHLDN?
