Dress shopping in two weeks

I’m going dress shopping for the first time in two weeks! I’m trying to keep an open mind but I am so drawn to A-line dresses. Did you end up with the same dress silhouette that you thought you would, or did you end up loving something totally different?

I was set on a mermaid or trumpet and have a sheath. I went in and asked to try on those silhouettes and then one or two of something different. The first ballgown I put on, both me and my mother said nope it's not right. I say focus mostly on what you like but give a few others a try.

I predicted a fit and flare and I got a fit and flare.

I am an older bride. I felt I was too old for a ballgown, but my dream was a big ballgown in my younger days.

Something totally different! So crazy how that happens. I was so determined to get something fitted, preferably a fit and flare. But I ended up with a Full Bodied A line/Ball gown dress. I also really wanted sleeves, and I ended up with spaghetti straps. Smiley heart Always try something new. Smiley smile

I was set on A-line, long sleeve.... I didn’t even want to try something on that was sleeveless, and I did end up with A-Line, but it’s sleeveless. Try all sorts of different dresses on- you might be surprised!

I went with a completely different style than I thought I wanted. Initially I wanted something A-line and very simple, lacy, and bohemian. I ended up with a ballgown lol. BUT the moment I saw myself in the dress I KNEW it was my dress. So definitely be open to surprises and a good bridal store will put you in lots of different things (especially for your first try on session) so you can get an idea of what you like! Have fun!

I knew i wanted a-line or ball gown with lace detailing. And while i haven’t purchased the dress (my mom wanted me to make sure i tried on many options) it’s on hold and I have an appointment to go back to it tomorrow. It’s a ball gown. I didn’t picture myself in a huge poofy dress but the one i tried on that was what i pictured, I hated. I also never imagined myself in an off the shoulder dress. I thought an illusion neckline but i love this dress!

Recently said yes to the dress & I ended up with exactly what I'd imagined! I was very open like they say to be but in retrospect didn't really benefit from it - I disliked everything I thought I would. It was harmless to try on the extra dresses but I ended up with a dress with all the features I'd imagined. Smiley smile

Same! Ended up with an A line like I thought I would. Although with some layers, which was unexpected
