Dress ordering from China

I saw the most beautiful dress but it's from a vendor in China has anyone ordered from overseas any wedding gowns? I'm not here for negative comments.. I could care less if you wouldn't buy from China if you have never. I would like to interact with women who actually have.

Just do your research and read reviews! It's a hit or miss. I've ordered things from China (not a wedding dress) and have found some amazing deals. Be prepared and order way ahead of time because it can take months to get to you.

There are so many horror stories. And in all the "good review" pictures the dress looks plastic and cheap. I would consider buying a second hand gown or a sample instead.

I have never bought a wedding dress from China, but my FSIL is always shopping online directly from China. She recommends reading the reviews of the seller, also beware of the sizing. In American sizing she is probably a 2 or 4 but when she orders from china she goes up to a 10 or 12 because the sizing can vary so drastically. I would be too nervous to buy online in general, but I say if it is a good deal and there are a lot of good reviews, it couldn't really hurt.

ETA: I would get on it pretty quick, whenever she orders from China it takes months to get in, and you are getting pretty close to the big day.

Well I was not planning on ordering online, It was not my first option, I had a dress but after being off work almost two years( broke my ankle and foot at work had to have four surgries) I gain so much weight I had to get another dress, I ordered mines from China from a bridal store called Elisa bridal and we work together and I emailed everyday maybe three or four times. Well when the dress got to me I was in love and it fit perfect and I took a huge risk but it worked out great.

Front details, I did do custom measurments, not trying to be funny but I found a alteration place that is owned by a woman from China ( took weeks to find a places in houston with good reviews and I visited the place and talk with her before I took the gamble of ordering from china) for my measurements and we all worked together.

Just be prepared to take the loss if u don't like it. Thats how I treated mine but wound up loving it. look for 'photos of the actual dress' not staged model photos. look for reviews with people posting comments and photos of them in the dress.

If it is a Chinese made and designed dress that's fine. I have a problem with the counterfeit sites though. It steals intellectual property, typically the work conditions in those factories are abysmal, and many counterfeit operations are fronts for smuggling other things, like weapons and drugs. I say find something from a legitimate brand.

I ordered mine from a seller on aliexpress. I did my research, they had 99% positive rating with confirmed people who had ordered the exact dress and posted photos once it was received. The dress arrived early and I love it. I sent my measurements and it fits perfectly (except it is about 3" too long - maybe they figured I would be wearing higher heels) and they did some customizations I wanted without an extra charge. I am so happy with the dress that I contacted the same person to create a custom veil with a lace border to match the lace on my dress.

I know it can be hit and miss with China dresses and I know my experience may not be "normal" but I could not be happier!

    ETA - fix a typo.
