Dress on a budget

Jessica, on April 11, 2021 at 11:54 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 31
I'm really struggling to find a dress that isn't super expensive. We're doing a beach thing with a handful of people until we can afford a bigger wedding where we have all our friends and family. So I dont want something crazy expensive for that reason. Anyone know any online stores that aren't scams and are decent quality?

Check out Azazie. David's Bridal also has that $99 dress sale sometimes.

Lulu's bridal section in particular has some great beachy dresses.

BHLDN sale section . They also have a separate sale section for more casual white dresses .

Try looking at white formal gowns at department stores like Macy's and Dillard's.

Poshmark, StillWhite, and JJsHouse are all great places to start. Make sure you do your research before settling on something.

Be careful with JJ's House based in China as it is hit or miss. Many posters have mentioned their seamstresses will not touch the dresses to alter them. The rest are legit.

Check out bridesmaid dresses at Cocomelody and Azazie which come in white and are under $200. Most of Azazie bridesmaid dresses are under $100.

If you have a wholesale shopping district in your city, you can get dresses there very inexpensively.

    Cocomelody, Fame and Partners, Azazie

Also worth checking out your local consignment or sample stores, and Etsy

Depending on budget I love Alamour the Label. They are a tad more expensive, but still not bad and they always have stuff on sale.

Look for a bridal consignment shop in your area. Also Facebook market place or David’s bridal has $99 sales.

I follow the lulu wedding IG and love a lot of those dresses. You could also check stillwhite if you found one you love and remember the style. It’s like a Poshmark for bridal dresses. My future sister-in-laws best friend bought hers there because her budget was $1k and you would have never known. I actually didn’t know until she told me when dress shopping... I asked because I loved her dress. I attended the wedding and had no idea (she was the MOH and helped pick the dress)!! It looked way more expensive.

This time of year, you could most likely find a white prom dress that would easily pass as a wedding dress. If looking for something softer, a white chiffon bridesmaid dress would be perfect for a beach wedding without breaking the budget!

Even Amazon has simple white dresses too. I would see if David bridal has a sample sale or even a clearance sale too

I don’t have any great suggestions for online retails but I was looking for an inexpensive dress and found one at a consignment shop near me. Ended up pay less than $500.

I am kind of doing the same thing... We have a Dillard's outlet near us (no returns allowed & they won't hold anything for you) ~ I stopped in a couple weeks back thinking I was looking for a "summer sundress" style dress (beachy feel both of us married before so wasn't planning to wear white). LOL They had a Ralph Lauren originally $300 dress for $20 ~ white with lace bodice with a tie back & cap sleeves (even has pockets). Fits like it was made for me except the hem (even though I wouldn't have tried it on IF I hadn't seen other things I wanted to try on ~ ended up buying it & I am still sticking with it even though I have tried at least 20 others in various price ranges. Moral is just keep looking in your travels and something will call you! Amazon also has some "Hawaiian printed white on white" dresses which are very cute ~ I have a couple in my cart both under $100 which I am planning to order and try to see if I like those better than my bargain dress! Smiley smile

    Azazie is a great option!

SHEIN actually sells it too and they have free returns. i will say that SHEIN is legit but that the quality and fit are not a guarantee. i've gotten lots of stuff on there and i'm never 100% happy with each but it's so cheap and they do have real reviews and they do free returns, so if you aren't happy then you can return it.
